Damn you guys, you made me wiggle! ;-)

OK, I finally succumbed to all this wiggle craziness that's been going on.

I had read the many posts about some of the GMTs having the new 3186 movement with casual interest. But then I remembered that when I bought mine last December - it's an M serial number - and I opened the box, it DID have the manual from the new ceramic bezel GMT, and it showed the new movement.

My dial also has the II represented with the two sticks. Hmmm. . . that was enough for me . . . I had to go and to the damn wiggle test. And you can probably guess the result . . . the 24 hour hand . . . no wiggle!

Now I have something to look forward to . . . when I have this baby serviced in about 5 years I'm going to have Rolex verify the movement.

If indeed there are a limited number of GMT IIs with the new movements, maybe we'll have something that will hold more value?

Anyway, thanks, guys, for making me wiggle!

I missed it, too, until recently when I asked about it, as well.

Wiggle Test.

Ah, just read this thread. Basically there is a theory circulating 'round these parts that says some newer GMT-IIs have the newer 3186 movement in them and the wiggle test is a way to determine if it does.

My GMT II doesn't "wiggle", but it does "giggle."

I also have the stick dial (ll) M Pepsi with new manual, and mine passed the wiggle test too. but supposedly the only real way to tell is to have the case opened and checked. I'm not willing to do that until my first service also.

why the paranoia of opening the case prematurely? I would have thought that the seal would play a part is ensuring that the watch is waterproof after opening.
