SS Daytona Question
So since i've started on the forums, I have become more and more enamored with the SS Daytona. I think i might take the plunge, but what I want is not available via Rolex. I really want a SS Daytona with either a black MOP dial or a Metorite dial, and I want to know, does anyone know a dealer (quality grey market or authorized) that would do this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I figured I would ask now, as it is almost bonus season (September), and I figured it might take a little time to research! Thanks again guys! |

The hard part of this plan is finding a Meteorite dial.
By the time you got things lined up, wouldn't you have about as much in it as a decent WG with Meteorite.... Anyway, once you have them in hand, any decent watchmaker can make the switch...it is unlikely that an AD would as it might risk their license.

I think this just initiates a series of headaches for the owner. Won't RSCs either will refuse to work on the watch or demand it be returned to spec in the process? I think the SS Daytonas are overrated because of the relatively boring dials. I have one, but would part with it for the right replacement and WG models are tempting. No question the WG models have much more interesting dials. In addition to the meteorite, check out the arabic numeral dials in black and white -- amazing watches. I think people are kidding themselves when they say that they'd take a SS model over the WG model even at the same price. Think we saw that in a recent thread too. |

Are the prices really that close? I thought SS was about 10-12 at "used" and the WG on straps were 14-16. I completely agree the dials on the WG are WAY nicer, I just thought they are more expensive by a fair bit. I like the look of the SS, and decided i'd rather have a Daytona than the 2 panerai I had my eye on. i'll look into WG daytonas
