Bought this one from eBay. No bells and whistles but seems to be good quality, is well build and silent.

I've had very good luck with my Brookstone quad winder.

They come in many configurations from single on up at very reasonable prices.

Hit Amazon, you will find many- I personally have 3 by Versa, have several turn and rotation options and have worked at least two years now...

Have to agree the only watch-winder any Rolex needs is the one it was designed for and most have two called wrists.

Below is a direct quote from one of our respected forum Rolex watchmakers.

I don't like winders.
I don't like them for several reasons:
1) Most people assume they actually wind the watch... No, they keep the watch wound, which means it should still have a good amount of power reserve in order to maintain the power. I get plenty of customers complaining that their power reserve is too short "even though the watch was on the winder all day 3 days prior".
2) Cheap winders MAGNETIZE watches! The motors aren't insulated and cause the watches to start running erratically! I just had one two weeks ago, with a 2 y.o. DJII. A complete service of the movement was required.
3) Unless you're too old, or have some kind of medical condition that prevents you from having the feeling in your fingertips to wind the crown, I don't see a reason to need a winder.
4) I don't like the unnecessary wear it causes the movement. Unnecessary because you're putting wear on the watch while you're not even enjoying it.

In the end, it's all up to you and I'm pretty sure all you TRF'ers know what to expect. I'm mostly having a hard time explaining to people who have absolutely no clue about the inner workings of a watch.

i hate setting my GMT2 esp rhe Gmt hand all over again if i dont use the watch for few days. if i have one watch only, I agrred that i dont need a winder.

I think theres a reason why winders were invented.

I bought this via eBay a couple of years ago for under $100.
Seems to do the job as the two watches that alternate on it have maintained a pretty consistent +2/day since I bought it, so it is not magnetising them.
I regard it as an essential as my watches would otherwise wind down on their 'day off' and I have no intention of winding and setting them everytime I put them on.
I would think that any extra wear on the winder has to be balanced against the wear of constantly winding and resetting them. Maybe I'm wrong but it's a risk I'm happy to take.

There was to extract cash from those buying them.

At that price point Brookstone is your best bet.

I've been on the fence for a while about getting a winder, now I'm well and truly off it. I'm saving my money for my next watch
