INCOMING From my Only Source DavidSW

Hey Guys so I haven't been on in a little bit. About two weeks ago my wife and I had to stop at the Westchester Mall. So while she shopped for boring stuff I stopped in Tourneau to see what they had in stock. I tried on a WG Pepsi which I am still sleepless over. I talked a little bit with the very nice sales rep that was working and as we were talking something happened that I didn't expect. A model caught my eye that I have never paid any attention too and I truly regret not paying it much kind until now! Let me preface where I am mentally when it comes to my current collection. I'm starting to only enjoy brushed surfaces, less flare, less scratches lol, just simple and minimal. Now I do have a 116613 Bluesy which I have debated giving up but I still like it occasionally to wear when we go out for dinner or formal setting (Growing up Bluesy was my Grail I remember seeing lawyers that came into the restaurant I worked at wearing them and I just thought I need one of those one day. I had a BLNR which I loved minus the PCLs but 3 of my closest friends have one and it kills me. Not the fact that they have it but that it's to common now. Please anyone that has one trust me you have a beautiful watch and I'm not putting it down at all and I have only seen a few in the wild but with my circle that I see often it's me too all day lol.

Ok so back to Tourneau while I'm handing back the WG Pepsi I start to pan the display and I spot the Explorer IIs. I asked to try on both the Polar and the matte Black. The polar was def cool just not me I don't think. But the Matte Black WOW. I was in love instantly. The orange throwback arrow is just perfect. I was in such awe that I barely heard when the store manager came over and told the nice older gentleman helping me that he would take over. So as I handed it back to him knowing my next email was going to be to DavidSW he started telling me about the imminent price increase lmao thanks for warning me bud I've never ever heard that one before! Just for ha ha's I asked him how much an increase he told me straight faced that it was prob going to be at least 10%. I said wow even after what Patek and Some others have done with the strength of the Franc. He stuttered a bit and kept at it. Lol another reason why Only guy I deal with is David.

Well I'm sorry for ranting on and on in closing if your looking for something fun, comfortable, and something that according to my wife doesn't remind her of a Rolex ( exactly the look I crave some days) than trust me this one is it! And if there is anyone reading this that is either new to the forum or new to buying online let me say this I have bought more watches than I prob should have in my life and about 4 years ago I emailed (for the first time) a gentleman named David S Williams or in the sales corner DavidSW. I have never had better customer service from any one no matter what the transaction was for. I would pay this guy blind months before he even had what I wanted and would sleep great at night while I waited!

Please excuse the poor photos. Here's my lineup minus my 16750 Pepsi that is being serviced!

And one with the WG Pepsi that someday I will have lol

I purchased my polar Explorer II from David a couple of months ago. Outstanding service and I love the watch. I also own a Bluesy and a Pepsi or Coke GMT is up next.

Beautiful collection and nice story.

Something similar happened to me when I got my Explorer II. It was a week after my 30th birthday. I hadn't really done anything to celebrate the occasion. At the time I was in the military and I was set on going to the local AD (a family owned business I ended up having a nice relationship with during my time in Maryland) to purchase a GMT Master II. I walk into the store and take a look around and try on the 116710LN. The watch is beautiful but at the time something was missing. I take a look to the left in the display case and sitting there is the Explorer II white dial. As with you, the retro hand caught my eye immediately. I asked the owner for a quote. She gave me a very reasonable offer considering the watch was just released at the time. I ended up making the decision to drive home to think about it. I got about halfway before I turned right around and bought it on the spot.

While I have another piece that means a bit more sentimentally and another that is newer, my Explorer II is the one that makes me smile most.

DSW is my go-to guy as well. Congrats on the 216570. I picked up the same one a few weeks back. Too large for me, but it fits you perfectly.
