My wife hates female Rolex Watches!!!!

After my wife bought me my TT balck Sub Date I wanted to buy her dream watch to replace a older Tissot and to say thank you.

I showed her EVERY Rolex in the range, and she tried on about a dozen including a Cellini.... her response was they are totally ugly..too thick, clunky and totally unfashionable for a professional women!!!

She said that if she wanted to look like a man then yes she would consider one!!!!!!!!!!!

She then went to the other counter and checked out the Omega Constellations and fell in love with a TT Constellation 'mychoice' with the diamond bezel and pearl face.

Her reason for loving the watch was it's understated elegance, it can be worn everywhere and it is so petite.................

Maybe Rolexes are really a male thing, I don't know but I learnt 20 years ago never try to understand the female mind...

BTW I bought the watch, pocketed the $4k difference and she is over the moon and totally loves the present... Women.. don't you adore them

These are my Mom's two. I got her the one on the left as a Christmas gift in 2006. They are both MOP, and she likes them both...but I feel that she has started to appreciate her Rolex for what a 'marvel' it is compared to these battery operated alternatives...



The Lady DJ sure is far more 'chunkier' but at least it has a soul...

I know the feeling, but my wife does like Rolex. I tried to get her to look at the 36mm and 31mm DJ's, but NO, she wanted the 26mm!

My wife is the same way. About 12-14 years ago I bought her a ladies TT Tudor (similar to date just) and she hated it. I actually had to return it. It was not her proudest moment. She said that it looked like a nurses watch and was not fashionable to wear to the office. In her defense she was much younger then. Still I have reminded her that she should have kept it.

My wife is the same,she thinks that a Rolex is to big for her wrist.
So she has now chosen a different watch,which I hope to buy her later this year.

My wife feels the same when I showed her the Rolex's in the AD, she just laughed and said she would never wear one...she did like Cartier saying they were classic and have style. She wears a vintage Omega

Just my suggestion, but try showing her some of the gentleman's models. Maybe she thinks the ladies sizes are too small and would like the full size models more. There has to be at least one Rolex model she might like.

Oh and don't forget the Cellini collection.

Actually it's the opposite, my wife is rather small with petite wrists and the usual datejust sits too high for her liking. Being a CPA/Lawyer she feels the Omega was better fitting and fitted her image more.

I tried the Cellini's and just about every Rolex, I tried to explain the workmanship and the wonder of a true mechanical peice.... she loves mine but for herself ...Omega won hands down!!! (And as mentioned by keeping my mouth shut I saved $4K )

I had a similar experience. Took my wife to the AD, thinking she'd love the mid-size Yachtmaster. She hated it. She then tried on about a dozen different watches and finally settled on a mid-size datejust. Still wasn't too sure about it. The next week at another AD she spotted a Tag Heuer Aquaracer with MOP dial and said "that's it- perfect for me".
Sure, I could buy the Tag for less than $2k new, but I just can't get excited about it. Guess I'll just keep working on her.

Imho, a men's sized watch (not just Rolex!!) looks terrific on ANY female wrist.

My wife, on the other hand, loves her T/T DJ so much, she upgraded it twice! She had a Champaign (Gold) dial with fluted bezel and Jubilee band (1997 model), she had our jeweler install diamond markers ($800) and then at a later occasion changed the fluted bezel to a aftermarket diamond bezel (another $900). I think women's Rolex looks better with Blings.

Everyone likes different things. Rolex sells tons of ladies watches as well as mid size and men's watches to women. Your wife just has a different perspective.

I personally think ladies rolex as well as many other ladies watches are way too small, I wonder how anyone over 40 can read the dial. But lots of women like them as I did when I was younger and never gave thought to bigger watches.

I was never a fan of the ladies' Rolex models until Rolex came out with the Yachtmaster. My mother in law has a gold Rolex DJ and, while it is obviously expensive, it never, ever appealed to me. I think one reason I don't like the ladies' DJ is that it has been copied so many times. I did, however, fall madly in love with the platinum YM (my avatar) and have worn it almost every day since I got it 7+ years ago. I wear it with everything, from professional suits, to the most formal gowns or informal workout gear. It goes well with all of them.

I have to agree with her!
My BF insisted I have a Rolex. I like the older 1920's or so blingy watches so I found a nice Tiffany and Co watch on ebay and this GORGEOUS Rolex in an antique store here in Tulsa. He got his Rolex for me and I got my older blingy watch. A little fancy for the office or in my case the firestation, but at least ot LOOKS like a girl watch!

My wife has a president and I bought her a beater - Omega SS Constellation (no diamonds).....

then she missed her Rolex.... the waterproofing, the ruggedness....

I sold the Omega (got almost all my money back) and put it towards a TT DateJust with ivory dial and romans.

She is happy now!
