To flip or not to flip!.....

I have a wonderful dilemma..

I'm lucky enough to own three Rolex watches now, the 114060 lives on a nato and it fills the slot of my do anything watch, the 116600 is my current all time favourite watch I love the modern yet classic DNA

Now comes up my 116520 (white) well it's a Daytona what's not to love! However I just find it doesn't get the wrist time it deserves and I tend to grab the Sub or SD! I don't know why as sometimes I get it out of the watch box to just admire the beauty of it.

So I can see I'm drawn towards diving watches well maybe I should diverse my collection so I found myself looking at AP which until I started looking at them in detail I had never been a fan of...

Incomes the ROO SS Diver only had the chance to try on the older version for a short period and it looked and felt good.

Onto my 1st world problem, I don't want to flip the Sub or SD I have flipped both before and regretted it so bad with a week (SD) and a few months (Sub) I picked up another, I can't justify adding the Diver it would take a year to acquire funds and TBH I could use the funds better elsewhere as for the flip there isn't a huge jump from flipping the Daytona and topping up the funds a little for the SS Diver.

Am I silly adding another black face diver to the collection and losing the diversity of the white Daytona?!!!

No. Save the diversity for your investment portfolio. But what you like.

I don't care for the Daytona at all. To "dainty" for a chronograph, so I would sell it and get a chunkier Chronograph. Maybe a Breitling Chronomat or DSOM

personally I love the daytona but if its not being worn, that AP diver is amazing. make sure you have the wrists for it, APs wear big with the bezel design

I personally as regards to your "collection" would keep the Daytona, plus I like the Daytona better than anything else you have or the watches you are considering. that said you seem to be a diver guy and are attracted to the AP diver so why not!?

Sounds like you've answered your question already - and having another diver isn't a problem especially when it's one that is entirely different from the SD and Sub. Go for it!

I wouldn't, but it sounds like you would. Take a little time to cool off and be sure.

Good luck,

What about a ROO Chrono

Similar style to diver and diversity of a chrono

Diver for me, love the SS brushed bezel and more than the Daytona's SS one which doesn't do it for me as I much prefer the ceramic or the PM ones. As for diversity not much in it really, one is a white chrono of same brand and other is black diver but of different brand and style and feel.

AP ROC may be a way to have a bit of both.

I would do it. If it does not work out you can always pick up another Daytona.

After a few enquires it looks like I can do the Daytona plus £2,500 ($3,900) to get into a BNIB Diver (latest version)

I would not do this but if the watch is not being worn, then you likely have already decided.

As much as I like the AP Diver, I do not think it makes sense to trade for another black dial dive watch. I would keep the 3 Rolexes that you have.

I think it's a great deal for BNIB latest AP Diver.

You are getting a nice deal, but imho you are better off with the Daytona even if you wear it for fancier occasions. Your DSSD should fit the bill for diving

Get a used ROO Panda rather than a BNIB diver! 🙈

You won't regret it!:)

Personally don't really like the Offshore, however I love the regular Royal Oak.
As for your decision, I'd say just buy what you like and what you will actually wear.
