Flip my SS Rolex Daytona black dial for New Rolex Day Date 40??

Hello everyone,

I'm in love with the new day date 40mm. My budget is limited. I have to sell my Rolex Daytona if I want to buy it.

Please tell me what I should do?

Thank everyone and have a good night.

Black Daytona cool watch, DD40 cool watch, but different and more expensive....... If it makes you happy then go for it. From new the DD40 will go down in price, where your Daytona is probably rock solid, but again what sings should always take pride over commercial reasons.

That's a sting, having to flip such a beautiful Daytona. Not sure I would, as I've come to really like the Daytonas in so many amazing dials and metals.

I think you have to ask yourself what role or function your watch plays in your overall lifestyle and activities. Are you more of a sports watch guy or a dress watch?

Go for it....it's an upgrade. If you can, wait for price to come down a bit.
If you wait long enough you may even have time to gather more funds and keep your Daytona. Although not sure if you would wear your Daytona once you get the DD40.

If there is no sentimental value then why not? You may buy another daytona down the road.

Very different watches, make sure this is what you want to do before you pull the trigger, as the honeymoon phase ending on a DD40 could be costly.

I would wait until after the first of the year and the new DD 40 will have cooled down a little and you will get a better price. Also, you will have a few months of additional wear with your Daytona and may decide to keep it.

The DD40 is a beautiful watch but I would hold off for two reasons. The first is that even if you can get the max amount out of your Daytona you are only a 3rd to 4th to the price of a new DD40. Secondly, the DD40 on the pre-owned market will probably drop in price by about 10k from new to pre-owned. Be patient, wait for the DD40 to get in circulation and then arrive at the pre-owned market. Then you can have your cake and eat it too by keeping the Daytona and getting your DD40 for what you would have had to of added to what you got out of your Daytona. My thoughts for what they are worth.

Why not? If you don't like the DD it's easy enough to get the Daytona back.

You'll get about 10k or so for the daytona on trade - i suggest waiting and saving the 10k - if 10k will make or break your solid gold Rolex purchase maybe you need to seriously think about what you are doing.
