Why do YOU stick only/mostly with Rolex?

Honestly for me, recently I have realised that although I look to diversify a little bit, my collection will always have more Rolexes. I find more joy in wearing them, and I am more carefree in wearing my Rolex.
It's just the aesthetics, combined with the reliability, and the durability, nothing can beat it.

I am more carefree wearing a PM Rolex, than a SS Patek.
I own and enjoy very much my SS Patek, and it is a different league, and a different kind of watch, but I don't wear it as comfortably as I do my rolexes.

I have decided that instead of buying another PP, or buying an AP,(which I don't own) I am going to stick with Rolex, and next save for a WG or YG Sub.
It is definitely nice to have 1 Patek in the collection, but Rolex is the way to go for me.
My Rolexes have been banged around and look as flawless as they did the day I got them.

What are your reasons.

I'd love to own a Aquanaut and I hope to before long. There are a lot of watches in other brands that I really like and hope to own. Some of these brands do things better than Rolex in certain areas. However, I greatly prefer Rolex in the industry simply because I feel Rolex does it best collectively.
I can wear mine in black tie all the way to the beach knocking around and never have t worry about it. The is a lot of joy in ownership when owning a Rolex. You can actually wear & enjoy the watch instead of having to be so cautious of everything.

That is my answer; the Rolex is a watch for those who want something rugged. They certainly meet my needs.

This honestly sums it up for me.
I love owning and wearing my 5711. The understated beauty, the dial, the brushed finish all so beautiful. However I sometimes feel like I hold myself from wearing it on certain occasions because it will get beat up. Parties or crowded places. That on its own is me not getting the most out of my watch, but I can't help but want to keep her looking as good as i can. I do wear it most everywhere else though, but I don't like the fact that I hold back from certain occasions.

My Rolex on the other hand. Man have they been to hell and back, and still look flawless!
I am keeping the Patek for sure as well, because the joy of it is simply something else, but it is mostly Rolex for me as well.

I can wear a Rolex and be carefree, knowing that the watch is robust and durable. The main reason why I stick with the brand and their watches is because I don't like lack of transparency that would cause disappointment.


There are a few notable "perceived" higher end watch brands (I won't name names) that have very high retail prices that use 98% of the exact same generic case/movement/finishing as a lower end brand that costs 99% less than the "perceived" higher end brands. All these "perceived" higher end brands do is stick their own branded dial onto a cookie cutter case/movement kit and call it their own. This is the lack of transparency that leads to disappointment as a buyer and collector. Rolex does not disappoint.

May I ask everyone why you cant be carefree with an AP or a Patek or an RM for example?

They are all watches....that are replaceable.

I only own more Rolexes than other brands due to the fact that it is easier to source Rolexes as my only three options locally are Rolex, Omega and Tag.

I was in Rolex denial for decades- they never interested me. Now I feel a bit like defending my choice to myself for wanting a DD40 more than a SS Patek. I just really landed on where I think the sweet spot is and it wasn't Breitling, but Rolex. I bought a Panny and an IWC in the last 10 years, have had a Breitling and 2 Omegas for a long time and they get little wrist time compared to my two Rolexes a DD II and GMT II.

As silly as it sounds, the PP or AP (can't comment on RP) show signs of wear very quickly, and much easier than a Rolex.
It's easy to say just wear it anywhere, but after spending $25K+ on a SS watch that shows wear very quickly, you want to retain the aesthetics and the charm of the beautiful watch as long as you can.
You don't end up not wearing the watch, you just don't wear it on rougher days.
Just like you don't wear your nice leather shoes on a rainy/muddy day.
Believe me the enjoyment of wearing it is incredible though and totally worth being careful! , for me at least.

Same for me as Rolex are so rugged and dependable. All of mine are ss so they stand up to the daily wear and tear exceptionally. The Rolex in ss are more affordable then say PP which are mostly gold cases. I also love the look of a Rolex. People might say they don't change much but that is what make them so timeless.

My answer is even though there are higher end watches, I really don't care for them or the styling of them. I really like the style of the ROLEX watch. To me they are more Iconic than any other brand watch.

Outstanding engineering for everyday use.

There are lots of products that have style.
A much smaller number have both quality AND style.
On most comparisons I seem to prefer the Rolex.
My first 'non-Rolex' appears at about No. 10. on my Priority List.

As I am mostly into sports watches Rolex appeal to me a great deal. I also like AP and PP sports models, I am luckily a Genta fan, but for more dressy or complicated pieces I would look at Lange and PP.

I prefer other brands. I'm down to only one Rolex. I'm debating another.

But my VC or Omegas get far more use.

Design, durability, accuracy. But I would consider those reasons I will always own a rolex not reasons I only buy rolex. Too many other good brands.
