Clasp Authentication Please Submariner 2005

I am a little paranoid because I got sent a very good fake submariner clasp a while back. I just got this one to use with my RubberB. The link screw I am using to attach to the RubberB did not come with the clasp, it is an authentic Rolex link screw from a Rolex I sold a while back, it doesn't fit flush with the side of the link but this may be normal? Anyone have a mid-2000's Sub care to tell me if the connecting half link on their Sub has link screws that sit flush?
The clasp looks good to me Anyone see a reason to believe it isn't authentic?

Not sure but I always thought that the screw heads were polished or brushed while in place causing them to fit perfectly flush? Not that a replacement screw couldn't be used in a genuine clasp, mine fit flush.

The screw is not from the clasp but is a Rolex screw I had. The clasp was said to be refurbished.

They are supposed to be flush. Is the screw from another link that may have been polished?

Yes, it is a screw from a datejust II I think. One of my previous watches.
Guess I could source a screw somewhere or get one from my AD

As long as it's tight, you are fine...unless it bothers you. A bit of loc-tite is also recommended.

It's tight, but I would prefer it is flush

93250s are some of the best faked clasps out there. Anything without the endlinks, you can pretty much count on it being fake. This one is most likely fake... You get what you paid for...

Yes, you are correct. I edited my response from 2011.

Yes, there are also known CL1 codes out there as fakes..

I will take it to my AD then to check. I have 14 days to return. Seller said he would stand behind the authenticity

I really do not like the crown on your clasp. If you like, take a better picture of the clasp with the clasp code side. I do not mind saying I am wrong but the likelyhood that is fake, is more likely than not..

Clasps sell for about $200. If you look at the Ebay seller, it appears he sold this clasp twice... Makes you wonder why a second time (a return?!)

Just trying to help....

.

for most Rolex bracelet there's 2 types (and 2 sizes) of screw, depending if the screw is "traversante (*)" or not (hole or no hole on the link).

(*) I can't find the translation for this french word, sorry.

Take a look at Rolex clasps, MA11 and 93250 should be punched in lighter than STEELNOX...

Look at the crown of this clasp:

http://www.chrono-shop.net/en/1945-e...ma11-20mm.html

Here is another one on TRF:

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=168345

Flat at the bottom as compared to yours.

Also look at the scroll as it come up to the R on Rolex and the X..
