Sending a rolex overseas

Will I have any issues sending a rolex into the US or Europe from Australia? A colleague mentioned to me that it can't be done (or couldn't be done).

IIRC, there are people on the forum who have posted successful shipping to US from Australia. But they may have taken some shortcuts to avoid customs regulations.

If in doubt about the proper procedures, it's best to contact the customs officials in the country you are shipping to.

No need. Sending a Rolex from AUS to Europe or US is perfectly legal. Just ve prepared to pay the VAT in Europe. But nobody will confiscate anything, its like sending a bar of soap.

Not saying it is illegal - we also have duties to pay on imports.

For the OP a website that might help calculate duty is at https://dataweb.usitc.gov

True, I was referring to the old story about "grey market protection", which is no longer valid.

To Europe not a problem, but good chance you'll have to pay 21% VAT and on top of that import duties.

Most EU countries don't carry any duties for watches. The VAT depends on the country, 16-25%.

I was under e impression, that, Rolex USA lifted the ban for Genuine Rolex imports. There are a few threads on this.I suppose, one way to ring out is to ask US customs, and get a reply in writing.

One of the reasons - and there are rumors it will go up to 22 % !
But to be honest . . . for the weather
November 20 and 82 here today . . . what more could you want in life ?
Although the summer months are hot out here in the desert but rather that than rain, low ceiling clouds
Another good reason to use your pool
The weather out there in Belgium make you depressive

I'm such a rookie. I sent a watch to Bulgaria a few months ago without even batting an eyelid. Only just thought about it as I'm selling a more expensive watch this time.
