Tudor 94110 Check

I found a ~1980 Tudor 94110 Snowflake - local seller so I was able to inspect it in person.

My notes:

- recently polished, a bit too heavily...
- bezel insert looks original, the pearl is not
- silver date wheel
- dial looks original
- dial and hands match in patina and lume is dead (no charge)

Overall, I really liked this piece except for the tiniest chip in the dial between the 7 & 8 hour markets (see red circle). This wouldn't be an issue on a 60-70's vintage, but being a "newer" 80's reference, it kinda bugs me...

Can anyone catch any other stand out issues?

What are you thoughts on the tiny chip on the dial? I wasn't able to leverage much around such a "small" detail with the seller. Curious if any other buyers would also make a deal out of it?

Tudor 94110 Check

Nice piece. I can totally understand that the dial chip is of a concern, but to me, it wouldn't be a deal breaker (it really seems like a real small chip). I would pull the trigger regardless. On the other hand though, I can't tell case condition based on this photo. Overpolished case might be a deal breaker.

I love Tudors. Therefore, my advice is go for it! Understand your observations; however, a Flake is a wonderful piece and I would grab it. Just my thoughts.

I'd be more concerned about the case corrosion inside the rehault

Looked like a little grime to me around the outside of the crystal between the bezel and crystal edge, hard to tell where it is exactly. Either way if you have a watch guy could be a quick fix, just if it were "inside the watch" there could be a potential seal/moisture issue.

The brown corrosion is easily cleaned up when replacing the crystal. Mine get this recurring as I swim with my snowflakes. You should remove the case back to see if there is pitting where the gasket contacts the mid case. The dial is pretty awesome man. That chip should be ignored. SFs usually have messy dials

very nice, that chip is almost invisible, when you consider how many snowflakes have seriously deteriorated dials that little pin-prick would not bother me case looks very healthy too, if the price is right for you then pull the trigger

Looks pretty decent to me. How's the bracelet? Has it been serviced recently?

I ended up pulling the trigger!

Upon closer inspection, the "chip" actually turned out to be a dust "flake." Not sure what it is, or how it got in there, but I hope to get it resolved during my next service.

I removed the fake pearl and cleaned up some of the gunk around the crystal.

The watch came with the original folded bracelet with a Tudor logo clasp.

Case was a bit over-polished IMO and they removed every sign of wear, but I'll break it back in.

I'll get a photo together and post up later this evening!

Final update: here's my 94110! I particularly love the matching scratch on the bezel and insert at the 5-hour mark. It use this type of detail to assure me the pieces are more likely to be matching original parts.

Overall, this watch cleaned up nicely. The oddity on the dial is in fact a chip (checked with a 30x loupe!), a slight bummer, but definitely a positive pickup as this piece (with bracelet) was WAY below the average online "market" price. Got very lucky on my weekend stroll...

Thank you guys again for all your input on this one!
