Praise for Meertz World of Time

Yesterday I posted a thread about a Tudor 9411/0 with a questionable minute hand offered for sale by Meertz. Several people responded and the consensus was that at least the minute hand was not correct. I then called Meertz to discuss this issue. Although the intitial response I received on the phone when I pointed out the problem with the minute hand on this watch made it seem that Meertz did not care, I have since checked their website and indeed the listing is withdrawn. Thank you TRF and thank you Meertz for being an honorable dealer.

I guess he did a 180 after his name is posted all over the net... Here is what you quoted his response to be:

"yes, it is possible that is not original," "yes, I know it is not correct, so don't buy the watch if you don't want to."

Good they removed it - they should really have it verified for authenticity beyond just the hands

From my reading of his response on VRF this what the fellow from Meetz said.

From my reading of his response on VRF this what the OP interpreted from what Meertz was saying.

"yes, it is possible that is not original," which I took to mean "yes, I know it is not correct, so don't buy the watch if you don't want to."

Not trying to say anything other than it appears Meertz did not state: "yes, I know it is not correct, so don't buy the watch if you don't want to."

Thanks for keeping the record straight.

As pointed out above, Meertz never said they knew the hands were not correct, or "don't buy the watch if you don't want to." That was purely my interpretation. I don't want to criticize anyone unnecessarily and I am actually buying a different watch from Meertz. My interpretation of the response from Meertz could be from cultural or linguistic differences.
