Size for RO
Wanted to know if any members here knew why the standard size of 40mm is not offered on ANY ROs (not including the ones from years ago)? I've seen modern RO at 39mm, 41mm, 44mm. Anybody know why AP doesn't use a standard 40mm case size? Does Rolex have a patent on this size case? I know they use 40 for many of their models.

40mm may be a common case size but never has it become a standard. I guess only the designers/creators of watches would know why their watch is of a particular size. It can be proportion to design, market trend, movement size. Lot's of different reasons really

Why is 40 mm a "standard"?
And what part of a watch is that? On a RO or ROO, should that between flat parts of the octagon, or the vertices? Which would really mean what? The stated size for a watch is pretty much a nominal figure--may not actually be the actual dimension of a specific part of the watch and does not translate well between watches Daytona bezels don't all measure 40 mm across These 2 are stated as being 44 mm The DSSD bezel is closer to 43 On the wrist, the ROO is much bigger ![]() |

Nothing common about the RO designs, likely just a function of the proprietary case shape?

He is great chance to use their slogan "To break the rules you must first master them" who knows why. I love the 39mm and 42mm and 44mm variations
