Rolex or a mistress?

Help needed...

I made my wife an offer... I said I needed a hobby, so I gave her the choice, I said I could either get a classic sports car or a mistress?

She said get the car, it will be cheaper to maintain in the long run.

I was having a mid-life menoPorsche at the time, so I bought the car
(definition: if you drive a new Posrche, you're a wanker, if you drive an old one, you're a connoisseur !)

Anyway, now I have the same dilemma, I NEED to start collecting Rolex's, but I don't have any bargaining chips left... any ideas?

At my age, if I said a Rolex or a mistress, my wife would say "no watch, go for it if you can". She'd be safe.

Just upgrade her diamond prior to buying a couple of Rolex watches, she'll be fine!

If only that were true...

Mrs Tools has more on one finger than most of my collection..and she has pinkie rings, and cocktail rings...and ring rings, and tennis bracelets..... and big necklaces, and little necklaces...........

Yet when I say I'm thinking about another watch.....I get the evil eye...

What's up with that.......

Don't ask me... I would go with a Rolex over diamonds anyday!
I just thought it might be a good suggestion for those "normal women" out there!

Yes yes, I did that about 6 months ago, a beautiful big fat tension-set diamond ring... I mentioned it and she said it doesn't count, as that was her reward for bearing me me a son about 6 months earlier... I can't win.

When I add the cost of all the baubles she wears daily, I could buy several of my dream watches....

Wake her up each morning and make mad passonate love to her. Come home from the office at lunch and do it again. Come home from the office in the evening and make love to her once more before dinner. After dinner share a bottle of wine the retreat to a exotic night of nasty dirty sex.
After a period of time she may ask if you would like another hobby. That's when you mention watch collecting...................I hope this will work for you. Got to go dirty nasty sex time

Don't try to reason with her. Do not ask permission. Get your watch. She might complain, but if you do not ask, then you cannot be denied. Either way, she will surely recover in due course.

Always remember and never forget. It is always easier to beg forgiveness than to seek permision. She has her pet things, you got yours. I bouhgt my Rolex, the wife asked her how much. I told her no one ever regretted buying quality and service. that she understood. Now she wants some quaklity and service too...... and a Rolex

Geez guys you are such a bunch of wankers. Do what I do. Buy her a new house, new car, beach home, lake home, Rolexs, diamonds; and then, and only then, go buy yourself a Timex and eat at McDonalds with the rest of your money. Sex? save the money for the next wife.

I just tell her to buy what she wants and all is well.

If you haven't bought your wife a Rolex, do that first, but when you do so buy her a Sub, something like a vintage 5513 a guys watch as it is the new vogue in style for ladies e.g. El McPherson etc. (no date is more feminine I think) let her wear it (you can enjoy that too) and then she will either like it (in which case you will get the green light to buy more) or worst case, she will appreciate the thought, let you wear the watch, and maybe, just maybe out of appreciation for your kindness towards her grant you the right to buy another down the track a little bit.

Just a guess, but you know your wife better than anybody, and if she reads this thread, then forget about the whole idea buddy

I think you answered your own question, I might respectfully suggest you need to make this about doing something for your wife, so you can let her do something for you, if you get my meaning.

It sounds like she already has enough diamonds, rings, etc..., so it's time for her to have a Rolex!!! Take a look at the Platinum Yachtmaster or the Bluesy Yachtmaster and make sure to take her with you for the test-drive.

Then, after she is head over heels for a watch to match her other rings, etc..., you can push for the watch that matches your Porsche.

ALSO, since you will most certainly be buying two watches, you have a little more bargaining power with the AD!!!

Good luck!

Simple solution.

Get the mistress. Buy her a Rolex and have her buy you one in return.

Problem solved.

Just buy one for her, then buy the next one you want. When she has one, she will then "get it" and you are on your way to more!

1. Thanks for all marital advice... I especially like the suggestion to have crazy monkey sex 3 times a day!

2. She needed a waterproof watch (she dunked the non-waterproof Seiko whilst bathing our newborn) and I made a stupid mistake of buying her a TwoTone TAG... nearly $3K! I wish now I had bought her a Rolex.. she says she is nnot interested in watches at all, but when I showed her some Rolex's online, you shoulda seen her eyes light-up!

3. Apologies to my Porsche brothers (Hi David and Dick) with water-bottles (they'll know what that means:) ) no offence meant with the old v's new definition, just joking, I love ALL P-cars. I would NEVER say no to a 996 or 997, just a little out of my range at the moment.

4. Steve, just so I understand what you're saying... If I buy her a no-date sub she will look like Elle McPherson (he he)?

Great advice from TRF's as always!

for such expensive taste you married the wrong wife

Tell your wife that you have very expensive taste and you feel that you marry the wrong wife as you need to ask permission to buy something with your own money.

It might works and she might get you the Rolex or divorce you...than you can get mistress and rolex

for me I join my bank account with my wife and she can access all my money. she get to keep her own account and her money will be hers and mine is her too. for that, I get to buy what I want with my money and she brought me two rolex with her own money. Woman need security my friend, you should make her feel secure and be responsible before she can treats you like a grown up man and let you do what you want.

Trying to find excuses doesn't work for long term relationship, especially threatening by hurting your love one feeling to get what you want...no no bros..... unless you are thinking of getting rid of her

Just kidding, I know you are not serious with this thread
get the rolex, it's a good and smart investment

Here's the plan...

Find a financial advisor, and prep him accordingly. When you two meet with him under the pretense of setting up Junior's college fund, the advisor will lay out an astronomical number that you will need to put away every year until he hits 18. He'll then pause, giving your wife time to sit with the desperate impossibility of such a lofty financial goal. And when she looks up at him for consolation, he'll say, "Or"...pause..."you always have the option of investing in Rolex watches. They appreciate in value, are non-taxable, and best of all, your son will get to attend university. Of course, you could just do nothing, and then end up taking care of your son when he's 30 and still living in your home with a new wife and child of his own."

It'll work, I promise.

No reason why not if that is what you put into your mind's eye maybe even better than that with your real eyes.

Buy the watch and tell her afterwards. You might get the cold shoulder for about an hour but making up is sweet, sweet, sweet. Works for me.
