Excellent use of lighting, and clarity.
Just looking at the lume on the 12 marker, you can see a white outline. I wonder if anyone knows if the dial is painted with white paint first before the luminous material (tritium) is applied to the surface of the dial ![]() I'm just wondering why the edges of the luminous markers have that white outline ![]()

You know what I noticed? It is either Rolex owners are brilliant photographers or Rolex watches are photogenic. This explains why Rolex watches are in such high demand doesn't it?

![]() The only thing is if the tritium was scraped off wouldn't you expect to see some kind of scaping marks on the dial ![]() ![]()

Thanks mike, well there you go, 'chemically washed' dial, that's a new one on me, I've never heard of that before, but I do like the results very much

Thank you all.
Steve, I guess that it´s correct with the white painted fields at the dial. This dial is a "SWISS-T<25" marked Luminova service dial. Jocke

That's interesting Jocke because with the patina on your dial markers (cream) I would have sworn it was a tritium dial.
Maybe it is the lighting effect but I have never seen a luminova dial with the tiny white outline around the edge of the hour markers. Sure it isn't tritium ![]()

Great shot..
![]() The increased size and magnification sure bring out details that we could never hope to see in everyday use of our watches.... ![]()
