I am a proud owner of a "z" series Sub. Purchased in Vegas in January of "08. I just noticed that the bezel can be "rocked" a very small amount if I push at 6 and then 12 o'clock positions. Other than a small misalignment of the arrow, the bezel is fine. Is this normal?

My sea dweller does it and the AD has suggested that it warrants being returned....its not an issue but needs doing within warranty

My 98 Sub had the same issue...so I took it to my AD to have the bezel insert changed (pearl was in bad shape)and the watchmaker just re-set the whole bezel...and the problem was gone...i think perhaps it may have something to do with the spring that controls the "clicks"...try your AD and see if they cant take the Bezel apart and realign it.....worked for me...good luck.

How about a photo of what you mean by a small misalignment of the arrow? And, welcome to TRF!

My SD bezel has a barely discernible "rock" to it. That is normal. Your bezel has 120 clicks or positions and due to that the triangle/pearl will often not align exactly with the 12 o'clock if that's what you mean.

No wobble on my Sub. I too had a small misalignment with the bezel arrow at 0. So a quick flip out, clean and realign solved that issue.

Have a look at this tutorial.

The Sub bezel sits/rides on a narrow washer to keep it from gouging the case metal.

You can generally push on the outer edge of the bezel and see a bit of movement... but I think it more a function of bezel flex and not bezel wobble..

I would lose sleep if I were you, rodb. Something is really wrong with your bezel. Take it to RSC to have it fixed a.s.a.p.
