A Fire 'Tender'

[TARDIS]

A fire-fighter is polishing a fire pumper outside the fire station when he notices a little girl next door in a little red cart with toy ladders and hoses attached to the cart.

The little girl is wearing toy fireman’s helmet and has the cart tied to a dog and a cat.

The fire-fighter walks over to take a closer look.

“That’s a lovely fire engine’ he says admiringly.

“Thanks” says the little girl.

The fire-fighter looks closer and notices that the little girl has tied one of the carts strings to the dogs collar and the other to the cat’s testicles.

“Little colleague,” say the fire-fighter “ I don’t want to tell you how to run your fire engine, but if your were to tie that string around the cats collar, I think you will maybe travel twice as fast”

The little girl pauses for a moment, looks at the cart, the dog, the cat and finally looks up at the fire-fighter and says:

“Maybe you’re right, but then I wouldn’t have a siren would I?”
