Help w/ first Rolex purchase
Hey All,
My fiance is buying me a Rolex 16710 for our wedding. Because she knows very little about watches she has asked me to source the watch. It will be my first Rolex purchase (I inherited my father's Datejust)and it's been nerve racking. I lost out on one with HQ Milton, I've spoken with Capetown in Atlanta as well. Here is my issue; my fiance wants to use a new credit card she has because she will get an $1800 travel credit, so bank wire is out. she intends to purchase on the card and pay off immediately. This tends to add 3%-4% but she's okay with it because it's more than offset by the CC rewards she'll receive. The budget is decent, easy enough to find examples in the price range she has given me but some are priced out of reach by a few hundred. I'm a stickler for box and papers, though okay with just box because this is a piece i will never sell. All of this has made the search more challenging. I'm open to using the forum's trusted sellers but can't seem to find a comprehensive list and, as previously mentioned, they will need to accept PP/CC payment. Is there a list here that I am missing? Open to dealer/seller recs as well. Thanks in advance for the help all. |

First off congrats on the wedding.
Second off... My personal opinion if you chose to read it or not would be different. With all the things going on with the wedding why make it more complicated and add more credit card debt? Ontop of the wedding you already are purchasing alot of other things . I was always told why get married and the first thing be in debt 40k for the first new thing in a relationship? Now if its not the money and you have it .Why not just pay for it out right? I know in my situation i didn't want to owe 4500 in credit card debt ..... Why was getting your fathers datejust nerve racking? I know alot of sellers on here but not sure if they take payments... Maybe someone can chime in. Best of luck and post pictures when you get it..

DavidSW is in my opinion the best resource available.
He's a trustworthy, respectable guy on all sides. If you can give him the business, not only will he appreciate it, but you will NOT be disappointed.

Spoke with DavidSW and he was great. Didn't have exactly what I was looking for though I was tempted by a 116710 he has in stock.
We ended up using one of the forum's Trusted Sellers, FNFZ4. I'll post more after the watch arrives. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
