Soennecken 222 Superior,black/grey lizard,B nib
Rare and difficult to find in Mint-ish condition. This mid 50's beauty is, what I would consider exceptionally beautiful and special. The cap and barrel design has a really unique patterned translucence.
Anyway here it is. |

Beautiful pen...!!! Congratulations. Great flexible nib, too. I'll have to attend a pen show next year in order to find one of those Pelikan ink bottles; they rock...!!!

Some Soenneckens from Andreas Lambrou's book "Fountain Pens of the World". In his description, he said they were the finest German pens being produced (at that time circa 1955) That included MB, Pelikan, Osmia, Goldfink etc..
forgive the quick iPhone photo My pen is the second from the left in the first photo, a Soennecken 222 Superior, the mid size. There is Extra, Superior, and Lady. The second photo shows a group of Soennecken 111's from the same time. There are slight trim differences, and color and body styles. Generally the 222's are Lizard bodies or black and the 111's are Herringbone or black. and also the Soennecken nibs never seem to be really flexible. They all seem to be semi flex. I think the is reason is that, less semi flex nibs would get bent less, than flex nibs could be wrong Rafael |

Soenneckens...!!! You guys are killing me. I had never heard of them, but they look absolutely awesome. They are even piston fill. I'll follow it up. This is great. Thank you...!!!
