This is not on the sticky so I thought I would ask. I just saw a 2007 16600 COMEX SD for sale. How many of these late model COMEXes were made? I am talking about the the F & M series. I had heard they were very small but now i am not so sure. Does anyone have ball park numbers?

I think he does have them all!

You may want to contact him directly, as the Comex details are not generally broadcast to thwart the fakers.

I certainly don't have them all, but the idea does appeal !

Our dear departed friend Marcello reckoned that that were just a few dozen of these without the visible holes in the lugs.

The Comex 16600 I do have is an earlier one and especially nice for the "second life" it enjoyed creating a number of big screen blockbusters ;-)

I think somewhere on the forum is the answer to approx numbers off all Comex Rolex issued batches/varients i.e. 5513,5514,1665,16610,16600 etc, The answer was supplied by the late great Marcello Pisani from memory around 3000 watches have been supplied by Rolex to Comex,

Happy to be corrected if I am wrong, Having always fancied a 5514 big numbers and asked a similar question a couple of years ago

the original story of the f series was 12 subs and 2 seadwellers. this was shortly thereafter amended to 3 seadwellers. I've owned two of them ( and no Pav i cant remember your number either !!! )

id say maybe by now its more like 4-5.

the f series were directly organised by Henri Delauze and came with a nice testament , and i know he spoke directly of them.

the M series are a total unknown at the moment ...and weren't supposed to exist ...persoanlly I've been offered a couple but passed, personally i suspect them to be much more of a cynical money earner than anything else.

It was simply a nice macro of a very rare 5513 Submariner that I had just acquired when looking for an image to use for my posts. You can read more about the watch in question here :

So the "M" is not really kosher? I am very confused by this. I own an earlier 16600 but had been after another COMEX as well....hoping to do a trade and stumbled across this.
