116500 elusiveness

Unless you want to pay, on average £6000 (66%) over retail value, they're hard to come by

I'm kinda regretting not getting on waiting lists sooner. Did they carry on from pre ceramic lists: or start over?

Back around the release my attention was elsewhere, but I'm on a few lists now, however its number 21/ 34 etc. Some ad refused to add me. Others said they could only add me if I lived local or spent some money in their shop.

Not complaining, just saying. Obviously there's a few of us in this position

Eventually, I hope to get one. The ad with who me I'm on lists say not to be too deflated, as there's red marks by at least 10 or so on the names in the list above me.... Hence known dealers. And no chance of getting a call.

I must say.... I'm still looking at over a year....

I'm starting to rationalise the grey dealers hiked prices now. Am I mad to do that? The thing is, I'd have my hearts desire.... Stay on the list.... Then sell my new one to make my money back (in part given some kind of market levelling)....plus keep what ever residuals are still built in to my original, I might break even!?

Should I?

Feels wrong cos its such a rip off, and I hate that

But if I know I'll get a bnib to sell in 12/18 months, the difference would mean my "overpay" would be halved or better.... Not withstanding a price rise by rolex in my original is possible in mean time

Just yesterday my AD said they had a 4 year waiting list and aren't adding more names. Not sure I'd pay more than MSRP if I had to wait that long to get the new watch. I think I'd just pray for patience. :-)

I would not enetertain paying over list. I do have established relationships with my multiple ADs however.

There was a modified 116520 with a ceramic bezel discussed on the Forum recently.

Looked just like the new model.

Probably why the retail price of the new model is not much more than the old one.

It's just availability and this has always been the case with modern Daytonas.

Padi will explain why there is such a premium.....

Say "New Daytona" 3 times into a mirror at midnight and see what happens.

@OP - I wouldn't pay such a premium, also I am sure by the time you manage to get one from an AD the resale price would have dropped, so you'd be a few thousand in a hole IMO

Well, there are some other factors to consider...like will there still be the same premium as the one that exists now? For instance, if you pay a 5k premium now to put one on your wrist, then receive a BNIB say a year from now, what will (if any) the premium look like then?

It seems to me that the premium has been shrinking somewhat, at least in the states. It's completely your call, however. Good luck!

You are in the UK. SS Rolexes are scarce as hens teeth. So it is doubly tough.

Lists are BS.

Unless you really know your AD Owner / Manager, you should just keep checking or go grey and pay.
