We are in the same figurative temperature boat with you here in ATL.
But I had a 3 hour head start... Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble... Chili American style - no sugar to cut the acid - but a bottle of pepper jelly is the secret to make them come back for seconds and thirds...

Looks delicious!
You can always add a layer when it's cold, when it's hot you can't do anything eventually. I take -10C over 30C all day any day |

Looks great G.
Thanks for the jelly tip. I like jalapeño jelly but had not thought of using it in a dish. I have meatballs in red sauce working today. Stay warm

Sorry if my hijack created confusion - Gerardo is still about an hour away from his dish finishing. I had been ahead of him by 3 hours and shot some pics...

There's an old saying in Texas that goes like this: "Anyone who knows beans about chili knows that chili doesn't have beans." Nonetheless, I'd take a bowl of Paul's chili right now and probably go back for seconds.

A few hours later, limited edition Bohemia beer, some tequila and...frijoles charros!!!!!
Wiki:Frijoles charros (cowboy beans) is a traditional Mexican dish. It is named after the traditional Mexican cowboy horsemen, or charros. The dish is characterized by pinto beans stewed with onion, garlic, and bacon. Other common ingredients include chili peppers, tomatoes, cilantro, ham, sausage, pork and chorizo. It is served warm, and is usually of a soupy consistency |

Oh yes those pinto's look tasty!
We did some pinto beans 2 days ago but used smoked ham shanks (aka ham hocks). Soon they will become refried and a base for shredded smoked pork burritos.

Gerardo that looks fantastic and from the looks of the light fat floating on the top lol great hangover next day for lunch with a cold beer.. lots of chili peppers !!

Sorry, my friend, 32F is not cold.
I read that a train was stuck in Sweden the other day, in - 40F! Minus 40F is where the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales join, ergo -40F = -40C :-) Food looks yummy though! |

Yum I'm about due to make myself another batch of chili. I know it's not the Texan way to include beans but I like it that way myself.
