Tudor North Flag

I picked-up this recently in a trade, not really setting out to get it by deciding to give it it a try when the trade was offered. I like it very much.

1. Some find it plain, but I am finding it elegantly simple, in a modern way. The yellow pops of color add interest, and really work for me.

2. It's not a dress watch, but I find that it works very nicely with a suit, in most circumstances.

3. It's supremely readable. Even the date is easy to read, without a magnifier.

4. I Ike the power reserve. It's a fun feature to have, and aesthetically I like the way it odds color and asymmetry to the dial.

5. The bracelet is great and works well with the case, giving the whole package a nice angular look.

The long and short of it all is that while I half expected that this would be something that I would sell or trade after enjoying for a while, I am pretty sure that it's a keeper.

I may try to pick up the leather strap down the road, and would be interested in any thoughts that owners (or non-owners) have on the strap.

I like it. The detail on the dial; color contrast and overall looks makes it a balanced, easy to read watch. Congratulations!

It's a great watch in person. I wish it had the Ranger's red accent colors (personal preference). I understand the vibe, though. Yellow is a more visible color for contrast, with it's inspiration being scientific observation. Like it very much. Congrats!

Edit: Regarding the question on the strap, I would order the black/yellow stitched leather combo that is an option for the watch from Tudor.

I bought the NF on the ss bracelet and later bit the bullet and picked up the strap and deployant for a change of pace. It's attractive and pretty comfortable although the deployant doesn't fit my wrist as well as it should. My complaint is that changing between the bracelet and strap can be a challenge. Well, taking off the bracelet and installing the strap is pretty straight forward but putting the bracelet back on is a real challenge--for me that is. I use a pair of spring bar pliers.

i've really warmed up to it recently. my first impressions of it weren't terribly positive. i found the power reserve indicator kind of pointless, and the utter lack of decoration on the brand new in-house movement was a bit anticlimactic.

the more i look at it, though, the more i want it. i'm oddly drawn to it. i'll probably end up picking one up this calendar year.

If you like it, rock it. It looks like a childs toy to me. But that is subjective and only my personal preference.

Beautiful piece. Very utilitarian and toolish and I wouldn't have it any other way.

When first introduced I was not much of a fan of the North Flag but it has grown on me. I am not sure for me if it is a modern design or an updated retro design. I will probably own one in the future.

I've always wanted a watch with a power reserve indicator. It's probably too early to say, but I wonder if you've noticed how long it takes to reach full wind with normal wearing?

Good question. All I can say now is that wearing it all day moves the needle appreciably. But I will do a more rigorous test.

One more shot. A little day drinking after a good hard run.

Resurrecting this old-ish thread to

1) Belatedly congratulate the OP - hope you're still enjoying the north flag!

2) Ask if anyone who has opted for the strap can post pics of how it has worn in around the deployant, and how the deployant sits on the wrist? (and also how the yellow sticking has fared agains the elements...)

I have been loving my NF on the bracelet (I'll hopefully share a review video soon in the reviews section), but I am on the fence about the strap.

I feel generally like this is a Genta-style watch, and as such, I should just leave it be on the integrated bracelet. But I do like a strap on nearly all my other watches. I even have a 16570 inbound with holes case so I can more easily swap it onto various straps, despite the fact that the oyster bracelet might be all I ever use...

So - I hereby call for worn-in strap pics! Pics I say! ;)
