Trading a SD 16600 M for a LV M is stupid...right ???
Just received this offer for my 2 months old SD. The guy has a 2 months old LV. I'm actually looking for a RRR LV but at the same time I love my SD...even if I'm not using it much....that's the problem,I'm not using it...but I guess I would not use the LV that much aswell I guess.........

Personally, I don't think I would make that swap...
But, I wouldn't criticize somebody who did.... They are both excellent timepieces that share the exact same movement with just a different wrapper.

If you like the wear your Rolex Submariner watch, keep your watch, if you are one of the rolex collectors, change it against the LV model, this one is more expensive and makes you profit anyway!

First Rolex purchase was a SD. After a while I realized I didn't like the look of the smaller dial. So I swapped for a LV. Loved the Maxi-dial and enjoyed it more than the SD (although I liked the SD slightly bigger feel). But, after some time I realized I just couldn't live w/ the green bezel on a daily basis...so I swapped it for the proven Sub Date (M). Happy as can be now...kind of wish I would have bought the Sub Date in the first place...then again sometimes you've got to go through these events to find the exact one. I'm in love, but waiting to see if the new Deepsea can turn my eyes from the Sub. The saga continues... |

I would rather have the watch I purchased new - just for the piece of mind long term.

Both are great watches and both are equally readily available at the moment...get the one that will receive the most wrist time..!!

wow...mixed opinions here... I've tought I would have only received a lot of "are you nuts ? ". That's good.
I've spent the evening thinking about it and I think I will keep my SD. I love the LV and I'm sure it would get a lot more wrist time than the SD,but I would be missing the SD too much, even if right now it's on my wrist 2 hours per week.... |

Boy you'll get strong views on both sides. If it were one over the other, the maxi-dial would win for me.
There's always the option of a black insert. |

None of the above.
Sell the SD and buy an YG/SS Yacht-Master with a black MOP dial! Hehehehehe!

I definitely agree with mike: maxi dial and a black insert option, what could be better than that

What an odd question!!!!
Seems as though you've answered it yourself with the next statement!!!!! Why would you wear an LV more? J |

that's what I'm just thinking. But I'm sure I would leave it in the closet as much as I'm doing with the SD. But the SD looks too cool, even in the clsoet !!!

That is basically what I did ......
That is basically what I did a little over a year ago except my SD was older but just overhauled and I sold it after buying a Sub LV. For me the Sub LV was just a lot better. But only you can answer that question for yourself.

I agree with Mike: the LV with a black bezel insert is, in my view, the ultimate Submariner. You get the maxi dial and hands, and the classic lines and look of the original Submariner. You keep the green bezel, of course, so now you have two watches instead of one. Go for it.
