Rolex Commando on Ebay Oz

I know nothing about this watch. Remarkable if authentic.

This seller often sells rare vintage items.

I wonder if those hands are the same size as the Mil Sub? (assuming it's genuine Rolex that is)

I think the 41 negative feedback is enough of a warning here

1. Doesn't look anything like the known Commados.
2. Serial number is 3 years newer than the known Commando #s.
3. No one is bidding on it.
4. Looks like the dial and hand design was stolen from British Military Sub.
A regular Commando is worth $10-$15k.
This would probably be double or more if correct.
So, I am going to call BS. Would have to be a prototype to be legit, and I would rather play the lottery I think my.odds are better.

Coronet and the "T" both appear to be too thick to be original as well.
Disclaimer: this is only my opinion.
Would be glad to hear anyone elses critique of the watch.

COMMANDO fonts are interesting. Engravings are close - not convinced either way if someone was REAL good. I did a fair amount of scouring the web when I had mine - never heard of a phantom albino Commando...

I'll never figure out how the makers of this type of "thing" can go through so much trouble to put something like this together and not know what the terminology stands for. Even says "manual wind" in the description.

Lucky, I suppose, if they had put this much effort into a credible pile of parts they might be selling that $15k watch.

Yah know what? This almost looks like one of those decal dials - the ones printed off an inkjet - if so explains a lot. But somethings look good enough to be true in the macros.

The case looks interestingly good and the engravings are close enough to raise an eye brow - even though some are in the wrong place and SS is missing.

The serial is well past the regular Commando range but that range is from 68/69 yet the watches never came out until 71ish.

Not worth the gamble without having in person - there are some oddballs out there - could be a mermaid.
