Insurance: real figure--Rolex

What is the best price you guys have gotten for an insurance policy to cover your Rolex? Mine wants to charge me $240 a year for 10K protection, replacement. I hear you can purchase separate policies for $60 a year. What do you guys pay for yours?

I think the general rule is 1% of the value, I've never been quoted more.

The other facet is the number of watches on your policy, so it's hard to help you. The cost was not linear as I added watches. I suspect that only wearing one at a time reduces most of the perils. I pay about double what you were quoted for nine or ten times the total value. I would think a rider to an existing HO policy could be a cheaper way to go, but you'll have to figure that out by asking.

Insurance

Best way to figure it out is "price per thousand"
Jewelers Mutual Insurance charges $15 per thousand dollars of coverage in all of California except Los Angeles County, where they charge $20 per thousand. In either case, you would be better off with Jewelers Mutual as $10,000 in coverage would cost you either $150 or $200 depending on where you are in California.
If a rider on your homeowner's insurance is less, go with that. Otherwise, shop around. The Internet has just about everything you want to know about insurance and insurance rates.
