Two years on...

Having owned my black bay for 2 years now, just want to share this picture I took today and my general thoughts on this watch.

Value for money it's just outstanding. It's my everyday beater watch, it's under the radar and strong enough to take a beating. Sea, gym wherever it does the job.

Personally love the older ETA versions. Can see in years to come their prices only increasing. The black is lovely, as is the red, but my favourite is the blue. Although in the future I would love to add a black ETA.

Is it on par with my Rolex or other higher branded watches? No. But for the money it's truly outstanding and one of the favourite pieces I own

Only two issues; would absolutely love a date function. If they did a date without cyclops on this I couldn't buy it fast enough. Also I find the bezel sometimes plays up when dirt must get jammed in it. But I'm nit picking here, it's magnificent and can't recommend enough

Beautiful watch, such an awesome conglomerate of vintage nods all in one modern piece.

I bought a black ETA from Ben Bridge 2 weeks ago (No idea why they still have one by now).

I'm amazed that it is actually more accurate than my BLNR.

I prefer no date so that I don't have to adjust date every 2 months.

Great watch! I had one, sold it, and now miss it. Thinking of getting a Pelagos.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I own the Pelagos LHD and feel one of the BB variants would be a good addition. More casual, more vintage. Very much looking forward to the day.

I agree with everything posted except the date thing it's nice not having to set the date if you rotate watches.. I have the black ETA version and it's a great watch

The Black Bay is an all around terrific watch. I bought the Blue (before there was a Black), then sold it to help finance my Explorer. But I promised myself that I'd get another one and I did. This time it was the Black ETA.

I'm a big fan of eta Tudors because I can service my own. Can't do that with the in-house movements (no parts account).

I just picked up a BB Bronze hope i talk as gushingly in 2 years time, no complaints today and while I don't measure precision like many do it seems to be keeping great time.

Definitely- have the Pelagos LHD and BBR (eta)- they make a great pair! (Except for having to send my BB in last week under warranty- rotor spinning with manual winding)

that is one of the main reasons I grabbed a North Flag instead. With that said, I think the overall design of the Black Bay is more coherent

If you have any interest in a BB chrono, it also has a cyclops-free date window

They need to bring this out with a date. Then I'd buy one as my everyday stuffaround watch.

My issue is that if they did release one, it would be the new in house and not the old ETA. My dream beater will never be a thing, but the BBB is damn near close enough

You don't realize how important the date function is until you have a no date watch.
