Nice work Phillip. If I might add my opinion, and based on the photos here, I'm not convinced that "Tiffany" dial is the real deal. A couple magnified photos below.

I notice this 1680 has a twin lock crown...when did Rolex implement the trip lock?

I do love these Tiffany dials & always see people here say never get one without the appropriate paperwork ,so what exactly would be the acceptable paperwork on a Tiff dial, is it a receipt from Tiffany or do the punched papers /certs say Tiffany on them ? just never seen any paperwork on these thanks.And great pics btw

Per some of my research, I have seen a couple dials that look very similar to this one; short stumps on the "f" and yellowish hue or patina on the Tiffany line. I have also seen the font with finer lines with longer lined "f's" in white.

The story of this watch is that the owner received it from his Uncle somewhere around the late 70's.

This crown would be "period" incorrect. Per the clients request, he preferred the 24-700 style crown.

Is it me or is the Tiffany text widely crooked? I have seen Tiffany dials like this before. I cannot believe that Tiffany would allow this poor workmanship???

It’s funny... I totally recognized the background and style of photography from pics of my father in law’s ‘66 GMT that was serviced by Bob Ridley in 2011. An amazing job, BTW.

Correct, just he say, she say. Per the owner, the watch was purchased and passes down by his Uncle.

The Rolex guarantee paper that lists the watch serial number would also be stamped "Tiffany." That's what collectors want to see to confirm it's a real Tiffany-branded watch.
