Scammer using my name and references. BEWARE

I have just been informed that there is a scammer using my name and references. My account has not been hacked. He has a duplicate of my email but left the "i" out so as to mislead buyers. Someone was taken for several thousand dollars. Please, please if there is a phone number in an ad call them and verify. He even listed my phone number and today I received a text from the buyer who is understandably upset.

Check references, make multiple contacts, and verify before dealing.

I'm sorry I didn't learn of this sooner.

Your account was hacked not long ago, as you signed in and reset your password on a phishing site that just captured your info, and now uses it to scam others! Albeit dropping one letter.

Unless you know what your doing in online transactions, and we have said this too many times to count, don't post personal info (phone numbers and private emails) in the FS listings, do not click on links from random people asking you to sign in (that goes for TRF members and or public inquiries due to you freely giving your email address), and always make sure you are dealing with whom they say they are....

When thousands of dollars are at stake, why take a risk without due diligence?

Yes, my account was hacked some time ago. This was something different.

Evidently this individual responded to a wanted to buy post and simply emailed the original poster. Everything was conducted via email rather than through the forum.
