Daytona Bracelet Question

Not a very clear picture but can you please tell me if this is the old or new bracelet ? Also there are more links on one side and less on the other. If the bracelet has to be shortened on which side should the be removed. There was a thread I was reading sometime back with a suggestion on which side the links should be removed so that the watch would sit properly on the wrist. Would appreciate a suggestion please , thanks.

That is the older style bracelet.

My Daytona was the correct bracelet size for me but I moved a link from the 6 o'clock side to the 12 o'clock side. This centres the clasp better and stops the watch from twisting over my wrist. If you need to remove link(s) remove them from the 6 o'clock side.

Hi thanks. Noted. Will do so. But the links are lesser on the 6 oclock side as it is. Wont this be a prob ?

No, there are usually less links on the 6 side but still too many. On my Pepsi I ended up with only 4 links on the 6 side and 7 on the 12 side to centre the clasp. It came as a 5/6.

I use my SD screwdriver as it is a perfect fit. Leave the white threadlock on the threads.

Changed to a clear caseback while I had it apart. Wristshots show before and after clasp position.

I find the bracelet has some sharp points and tends to pinch the skin if not moved . This is not a problem I faced with the new GMTIIC bracelet. So does it help if the watch is tight on the wrist and not freely moving ? I prefer some loose play on the wrist but am curious if the pinching will be there. Anyone else find any sharp points on their older Daytona bracelets ?

For years people have been dying to get their hands on a Daytona clasp because of it's sleek style, positive lock and good looks.. It has been considered an up-grade on almost any watch..

Now that they are putting a GMT clasp on them...which has been out for several years, it's being referred to as the "new" clasp..

I like the Daytona clasp.... it's comfortable and I have never experienced any "sharp" points or pinching.. I don't see changing to the GMT "rail" clasp as a significant improvement.

That is the clasp for $9200 Daytona in US, so it's the most recent "older" clasp.
definately remove the link from 6 o-clock side first.
