40s lemania chronograph stopped working

Hi all, I bought this watch in late 2015 with an unknown service history. Since then..it's ran well. This an when I went to wind it..it would several times..reached the point of resistance, but didn't start. Time for a service I guess. What do you think the issue may be?

Update: after lightly swirling the watch..it started. Very strange. Mainspring issue?
