Have you started your Christmas decorations yet?

The missus is hooked on Christmas shows on the Hallmark channel and mentioned something about hanging lights.

I told the missus that for every day before Thanksgiving that you have Christmas decorations up Santa kills a baby reindeer. I'm safe for another three weeks.

Decorations will go up sometime after Thanksgiving and not a moment before and my wife is totally on board with this. Thankfully, our son is old enough that he helps me with this now which is a bonus. I really am blessed.

Lol a lot of people here put them up around that same time. I'm not a fan of having it done too early.

Well, if that's the case, Santa may have killed a lot of baby reindeers these past years! Our tradition is to start decorating for Christmas late on Halloween night

No; however, my neighbor has their house decorated for Christmas three months out of the year, November - January.

It is sad that a true family holiday like Thanksgiving has just been steamrolled by greed and commerce.

I ignore anything related to a December holiday until December.

Ha!!! No we have not yet. We usually wait until the day after thanksgiving to start. But I will say, if we have a 65 degree day in Indianapolis between Halloween and thanksgiving and I am free the outside lights will go up. Just won’t get turned on until after thanksgiving.

I put up the ones that I need the ladder for yesterday, nothing plugged in and nothing else out yet. I’ve learned that if I wait on the tall stuff until after thanksgiving more often than not the weather is horrible, strong winds with snow and ice don’t mix well will old guys on aluminum extension ladders. We’ll do the full monty right after thanksgiving though. Everything down on New Years Day is our tradition.

Outside lights go up the weekend of the Army/Navy game, whenever that falls.
Always been that way, always will.
The inside stuff, I have no say in that, and frankly, don't want one.

This seasonal project is definitely on the horizon and procrastination has its limitations.

Still wondering what's worse. Putting the lights up or taking them down after the holiday season.

My wife is having her knee replaced on 11/30. So, I am screwed with getting decorations up now or doing it myself and playing nurse. So, up they will go starting this weekend. Sorry Santa and all the baby reindeer.

12 days of Christmas so they should be put up 12 days before, pre-game should not be longer than the main event, same goes for foreplay.

I was informed by my wife that Hallmark now has two channels that will be running Christmas moves 12 months of the year. I’m seriously debating canceling cable.
