Black or brown leather strap..

I’ve got a TT datejust with a black dial that I want to put on a leather strap. I can’t decide which color leather to go with. Would a brown strap be too much with the SS case, gold bezel and black dial ? Or would the black strap look better with the black dial? Thoughts and opinions welcome....

I’m thinking black.

A couple examples..

I have a brown and black strap for my black dial polished stainless Panerai. For what I wear the Brown strap tends to be most versatile I think. I'll change it out sometimes if I'm wearing only grey or black tones. The brown version above is casual, but looks great I think. A more formal option will work too..

I have the same issue. Black dial TT Datejust 16013. I'm thinking a black alligator strap will look great with it.

For two tone or all yellow gold, I would go with brown, as it softens the severity of the black dial. If it were all steel, I would probably go for black.

Certainly black. If it was a champagne dial, you could go either way...but introducing another color with a brown strap may be a bit too much.

I’m not sure of what this would look like in person but I think this is a great idea.

I’ve seen a Seiko skx007 with a black dial and a brown leather strap and it looked real nice.

In you’re case, the small touches of gold would only compliment the brown.

This is my humble opinion of course.

I would go with brown!
