14060m - Solid find in Singapore

Got my hands on the 14060m 2 Liner Submariner.

I was pondering over the 114060 (again, for the 4th time) and the 14060m...
the price difference was about 2000.
Kinda miss my 1680 after i sold it, So i went for the latter.
Feels the same but not the same. haha

F Series, Drilled Lugs. The bezel insert starts to have a bluish hue to it. YESSA

Nice choice.

The two liner was also my original choice and the dial symmetry is perfect.

Ps. They all have drilled lugs.

ahh, even the COSC variant?

I love drill lugs, makes it easier to change straps.

but rolex went for the cleaned up look and it's a pain in the ass to switch between bracelet and straps for the modern pieces.
but then again, the comfort of the oyster bracelet, why would you change? lol probably for a different look.

14060m is probably the best Sub under $15k, for sure. 114060 is a step away from what the Sub should be, a no gimmicks tool watch. My favorites either being the 2 liner for complete simplicity or the random serial 4 liner to get the modern goodies. That watch has looked cool for 50 years and I'd be willing to bet it will be cool another 50 years, a no brainer purchase if you like them.

and yeah, the 14060m had drilled lugs all the way until ~2012 when they stopped production. It's a great feature, as this model (especially with a faded bezel) looks fantastic on a rugged brown leather strap. I'd maybe go as far as saying, the 14060m was the last production piece that was still a true tool watch.......as the 16600 Sea Dweller was discontinued a few years before that, not to mention it lost it's drilled lugs even further back.

totally agree. had my old 1680 but unfortunately i have to give it up.
I hope I have funds to seek out a 5513 Meters first.
That's the grail

I am a huge fan of the 14060M. My AD keeps asking me when I am going to “upgrade” but I find it to be the perfect tool watch sub - it’s not going anywhere.

some fading in process. comparing to the 16600, which has the gloss on the insert

The blueish faded tinge to the bezel looks very nice indeed. Oh.. your old 1680 though! Nevertheless, congrats on the 2 liner. Gao xing for sure

What causes the gap between the lugs and the end links? Polish?
