GMT MASTER II Detent gear repair ....
I have the detent gear issue on my GMT II. Rolex says they will only repair it as part of the full $700 service. Any other options for getting it repaired? Thank you!

It's a small flat spring that breaks, and the repair is a more robustly designed part.
Since you have to take the watch apart to replace it you aren't going to see much of a discount in labor or parts. As mentioned, find an independent who has a lower cost and a parts account.

What they said. I had the same thing happen to my YG GMT but it was due for a service anyways.
