1st men’s Rolex advice needed

I have another post where I decided a 37” YM 268622 was my choice for my first Rolex but all of you keep posting fantastic pieces so now I’m torn. I’ve never worn oversized pieces with my 6.5” wrist but many of you seem to enjoy the heft. Limiting myself to 36-37mm limits my fun but there are fantastic pieces.

I’m looking for a daily watch dressed down mostly but do the occasional suit. I’m looking for a little direction as I am yet decided on a watch a little larger than I am used to or just keeping in my zone. I don’t want that “little guy with a big watch look”. Anyone with a similar wrist size and photo may help.

I have small 6.3 inch wrists and wear any size I feel like. I wear 36mm up to a 44mm deep sea. But 39mm seems to be the sweet spot for comfort . Just picked up an Explorer and it fits nice and isn't obtrusive at all.

Also I find 40mm watches are still comfortable on a rubber strap. Worth looking at the sports models with oysterflex or just adding a rubber B strap. So best thing is to buy the one that sings to you and see if you can live with the size.

If you want to wade in gradually, then grab a new Oyster Perpetual 39. The newly launched black and white dials are both pretty cool, I think.

Most 40 mm Rolex would work well on your wrist IMO

Cant go wrong with a 40mm as a guy. 43mm may be pushing it a little if you have small wrists

I think many people preach like if there was a Geneva Convention that determines what people should wear or not regarding size. Personally, I think this is ridiculous ! You wear what you want, using of course, a common good sense. My left wrist is basically 7" and I already had for 3 years, a Bell & Ross WWI-92 Military 45mm. It looked very ok because the case was nowhere thick! I posted in another thread that what actually bothers me more is the case thickness. I own a Breitling Navitimer 01 43mm, 14.3mm thick and a Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph Heritage 41mm, 17mm thick !!. Needless to say that the Tag feels WAY larger and heavier than the Navitimer. My personal "rule" and what I feel comfortable with is always having case and lugs not going over the edge of my wrist when looking straight to the dial from above.

odd as it seems both Rolex's in the attached photo are 36mm, the wife has smaller wrists that make the OP look larger, Personally Id go with the Explorer and I believe the 114270 is the best reference.

Exactly what I needed. I may go try on a GMT II and 41 DJ Rhodium with a jubilee. Typically prefer oyster bracelets but open to options. I’ll check out the rubber b strap also. Looks fantastic. Thanks everyone.

Here is a picture of my GMT Master 2 on my 6.5 inch wrist. In my opinion, it wears great and doesn't look nor feel too big on me. You should try one on if you have a chance.
