Help Please: Need Something Dressier

Current collection in signature and I have a deposit on a 5712.

I've always wanted a Patek which is coming so I don't necessarily need to go Patek now to scratch that itch. However, for the price of a DD, I think Patek is a better buy (reasoned and differing opinions are welcomed). I've also always wanted a DD but I just don't know how well it would work on leather because it's not nearly as sleek as a Patek dress watch. I don't know what to do. All advice and opinions welcome.

Here are the watches I'm considering:

(a) Patek 6006G,
(b) Patek 5196G or P,
(c) Datejust 36: steel, jubilee, fluted, white or silver dial, and buy leather straps for dress it up,
(d) DD40: Everose/olive anniversary dial (although this is the least versatile IMO due to the dial color). Also would buy leather straps to dress it up,
(e) DD 36 or 40 in another combination with additional leather straps, or
(f) vintage

Hold tight for the 5712 and if you've just got to get something before it comes in, look at a 5227 or the 5196P mentioned previously.

The DD in Everrose with green Romans from your list is the way to go while you wait on the 5712. I doubt you would wear those Calatravas much is my guess.

From your Patek choices, i would go with 5196. Or, if money's no problem, i would get 5539 or 5o78.

The DD 36 has 3 models on leather strap, you could also check them out.

5296 without a doubt, it’s a real stunner with it’s opaline dial. Also a bit thicker and thus sportier than the 5196.

Just recently bought the G version and I’m completely sold.

I’d recommend a 5131R I like mine and you can dress it up or down.

I recommend a 5196 to go with your brilliant collection.

+1. 5296G non-sector dial worth a look.

You have plenty of Rolex so go a different route. 5196P is a classic
