Need SUB advice...

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum.
I am finally ready to purchase my Ceramic Submariner. Apart from being torn between the ceramic no date (114060 ) and date (116610) I have found an AD out of state to buy from that is willing to sell to me since there is no AD in the state where i live. I am scheduled to fly out of state to put down 50% of the retail price for the AD to "order" me one. From what they told me this will insure my place in line ahead of everyone else that is on the basic waiting list.
I have bought and sold watches in the past with David SW in FL. and he has both watches used for a little less than retail but since this will be my forever watch i wanted it to be new.
Any thoughts or experiences with something like this or "pre-ordering" in the past due to the SUB shortage?
