Watch value
Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum. I inherited a rolex submariner a while ago and for insurance purposes I'm trying to figure out a value. It's a model 1680. The serial number is kind of hard to read, but I'm pretty sure the first few number are 238. Any help would he appreciated

Depending on condition it could be anywhere from 5-50k+. Early 2 million should be a meters first red sub. If untouched and in great condition it could be worth a lot. If it is in bad shape and lost important parts it could be worth the lower end of that spectrum. We need good pictures in order to help you further.

I'd say $20K for insurance purposes. However replacement value might be far higher...

Is there something up with the bottom left lug, or does the endlink just look longer in that photo?

Score! Insure it for at least 25k, NEVER have it serviced by Rolex.

Get it appraised by somebody that knows vintage rolexes in your area.

If you are insuring it, your agent will likely want a written appraisal, so you should obtain that from the store you bought it from or another store with proper credentials. Seek a policy for “replacement value.”
Many jewelry policies are called “inland marine” as I recall. |
