You're educating me here...was the V series after the M series? And if so, does that make it rare because it is supposedly discontinued?

Congratulations, a beauty
( don't they all come from Switzerland? ) New serial numbers tend to feed in gradually, so ADs will still have Ms and even Zs in stock. If what some are hearing is true, V will be the last of the SD and Exp II Cheers

Had two V SDs in Cardiff just before Christmas and the only difference since 1989 with SeaDweller E,X,N,C,S,W,T,U,A,P,K,F,D,Z,M,and V.Is now no lug holes and a different case letter all the rest exactly the same SD for 20 past years.

All the Letter indicates is when the case was stamped, nothing more nothing less.

I really don't think a V gets you anything over a Z or whatever. No lug holes is probably the differentiator, since that was only a 5-year run.

So it is right to say that SD "V" series is the only SD with no Lug holes produced..

The year 2002 end of Y series early 2003, non lugs holes started to make there appearance on most Rolex models.Less time to drill the case lugs right though equals more watch case production.

You do realise that you are killing a few forum members here who thought they were buying the last serial numbered SD'ers when they bought their M's. It personally makes no difference to me and I'm sure 50 years down the road it wont matter if you are selling a Z, M or V serial, they are the same watch.

Hi Rolex Fans:
I have Just bought a V series Sea Dweller for my Son's 21st birthday gift. he is not 21 untill 10th of september so I have asked AD to keep the watch in his safe and register the watch on my Son's birthday this he has agreed to do. So not only will this watch be one of the last batch being a "V" but it has the chance of being the last registered "V" on the planet. According to the research I have done there are only 200 "V" serial Seadwellers but this is a guess and only Rolex will know the true number. The AD I use says the watch is still listed so in theory you can still order the watch but again only Rolex really know? but there is a small buzz regarding these V serials and I have seen them for sale at £5000.00 !

it seems like there was a panick earlier this year for these V series SD's, but there a few ADs around LA strill trying to move them off the shelves. did some new news come out? what happened? i was at a GTG less than a week ago and we were all passing around a V series SD like it was any other serial. of course, since i was the only NON-rolexed member there, the heat was on...

Even if Z, M and V serials are the same watches, I would get a little kick for V series SD since it is the last production batch before the phase out! Congrats.
