Rolex is in an interesting situation here.... obviously their current retail prices are lower than what the current consumer market would support. Logic dictates that one should raises prices....

However, the global economy is in a huge up swing. Rolex needs to price in a way where they are also desirable during the next down financial cycle. What’s that price?.... it’s difficult to tell. I remember back in 2008 rolexes were pretty cheap in the secondary market and AD stock was plentiful, just saying

US dollar is still pretty strong, doubt we see a price increase anytime soon

Interesting thoughts on the global economy. Didn't Rolex just raise prices in the UK though? So is it more aligned to the global economy, or national economies?

More aligned to the global economy. Weak GBP meant they had to adjust it twice...The ADs still proclaiming to be the cheapest in the world. Laughable cronies of Aurum Group.

Rolex needs to increase the price based according to the market. If people are willing to pay 20K for a Daytona, then price it to eliminate the waitlist and people can actually go in the store to check them out.

its one of the cheapest retail price places to buy in the world (paying in USD at least) and with a VAT refund its even better. Not sure what Aurum group has to do with anything, and im not of fan of them anyway. Its just math.

Maybe Australia is cheaper as i have heard, but they have stock issues as well.

US $ is very strong and the stock market just dropped over 5%. Two strong indicators that Rolex should not be raising prices.

This was back in 2017 when they weren't discounting on anything, and the same attitude has persisted since the Brexit and being "told" they were the cheapest, I found savings many other places. So whilst they were thinking they're the cheapest, I was able to lock in 10,15,20% off on certain models they wouldn't move an inch on - And this was before the cut of supply of stock and where it was still possible to find a SS Sub on display. How are/were they still the cheapest then? Laughable to say the least. Must just be the jokers in the London stores... I didn't find the same attitude in the rest of the country. The further up north, the nicer the attitude.
