Who thinks that Rolex should bring back the Explorer 1 36mm?
I’d love to see an Explorer in 36mm with the lume on the numerals and the new bracelet style! I think the 39mm choice is great but there should be a choice between it and the 36mm. In all fairness the heritage of the model is in the 36mm size.

People generally want a bigger watch these days.
I'd also want it to be 36mm, but we can always get them pre owned. |

Fair enough but why not offer the choice like they do on their datejust and oyster Perpetual lines, I know most of the demand is up at the bigger sizes but I’m sure there’s enough demand to justify them offering the choice

Nah...I wouldn't want that. I am so happy they made the 39mm esp. Mark 2.

I would totally buy a 36mm Explorer with updated bracelet and movement and lumed numerals! Right now! Here Rolex, take my money.

Tried a new 39mm Mk2 and its too big for my 6.7" wrist. Fits but is too imposing losing the old school charm of the 36mm. Lugs and bezel too wide.
I would buy a 36 with better lume, improved movement and upgraded bracelet. Better still make it 37 or 37.5mm. Sometimes a couple of mm's makes all the difference. |

I think it would be great if they did this, using the 116000 (OP36) case which has slightly thicker lugs than the 114270 case which would give it a tad more wrist presence.
If they did that, and kept the matte dial, lumed numerals, and put the “Explorer” back on the upper half of the dial, it would sell I think. I’d buy one. |

I do love the 36. So much so that I bought one for my father but if I were to get one it would be the 39.

No. I feel like that would be admitting a mistake, and Rolex doesn't do that. Also, the 39mm actually looks great.

Meh.
They can’t stock the 39mm so why ask for miracles? |

While I love my new Explorer, I think that I could be tempted by watch that you’ve described... I’ve worn my brother’s 36mm Explorer, and I felt that it was a bit small for me. But I think that a lumed 36mm dial might make me forget about the smaller case size. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
