Know whats nice about the Seiko community?

A $350 Turtle is appreciated as much as a $1000 PADI as much as a $7500 GS by all. It's very nice and refreshing actually.

Agreed. One of the few brands that gets love across the board for a variety of their watches. Both new and old. Seiko value is strong no matter what price point.

Well said. Also characterise by what's missing, ie, no endless whining about waitlist, resale value etc..

Totally agree. No power plays here, just an appreciation of nice watches.

Yes, but they’re replaced with gripes about resizing bracelets, lack of micro-adjustment on the clasp, case thickness, and poor accuracy in the specs... there's just no pleasing some folk.
Now where’d I put that tongue of mine...?

I was awarded a Seiko SQ in 1991, and wore it proudly after having worn a 1960’s Omega for 25+ years.

It was a Rolex Explorer II Polar dial purchased in 2000 that ruined me.

But I still keep the SQ working and wear it from time to time.

Bad taste in mouth when you want a Rolex ceramic Daytona, Rolex Pepsi on jubilee, etc. and you cannot have it even at MRSP.

I have been having low risk fun acquiring Seiko divers.

45 years old. Not the most stylish. Unknown service history, Runs like a top. Picked up in a pawn shop for $20.

I love Seiko.

I pulled these two out of another junk box.

A couple straps is all they needed.

And you don't have to read #MadeIt posts like: "This here is my Seiko. Paid cold hard cash for it. Just like I did for my truck."

I really like the one with the white dial. Very sharp.

I agree and really like the brand. I am learning about GS but am having a lot of fun with the sub $500 divers.

What a great observation. This has become one of my favourite sub-forums. I’m spending more time here than in the Rolex section

It is nice not to have to read posts from guys who care more about the name on the dial and resale value. Rolex as a company the the new generation that wear them has really turned me off the everything Rolex.

You are right, there’s nothing wrong at all on the Rolex side of the fence.... but check out post #21 here- “august 1410” expresses the Seiko Forum’s difference in attitude and appreciation!

My father had a Seiko that was red and blue with a tach bezel. May have been a Pogue. He says he still has it. I am hovering around for it. I gift him watches that I no longer wear, maybe I’ll get his Seiko ( 40 years old).
