Sky-Dweller owners - how do you like the watch?
Curious to get candid feedback on Stainless Steel Sky-Dweller owners w.r.t. how they like the watch, including the pros and any cons.
For posters with medium sized wrists (i.e. 7-inch or so), how does it fit - including any comments on the thickness? How does the GMT function compare to the GMT ii?

IMHO, the best Rolex every made after the re-design!
It shows a lot of information but it still has a clean design. It is the most complicated movement. Just think about never changing the date and if you have to do it, it's like Sky D's happy new year! The GMT function is amazing as the GMT rings freaking moves! It moves! Most GMT watches have a second hour hand, which makes the Sky D unique. It has a bit of a bling with the fluted bezel and the PCL... but this watch deserves it as the flag ship in terms of the outstanding movement. It's actually perfect as a Jubilee / President (e.g. if Rolex would had thought about a special PM version) would make the watch too busy / add to match bling. It wears very comfortable and it's my most fav Rolex right now and it's "under priced" If I would be a one watch guy, the black Sky D would be it! If you consider a daily and a special (or business) one, treat yourself nice and buy you a Sky D and a Sub C or even better... a SD43! That is the most perfect / versatile combo IMHO! Happy hunting! |

Best wrist balance for me, incredibly accurate, great as i travel the world often... Pateks and others with old school side case push pins seem ancient. So basically a real move forward in movement and operation combined with Rolex reliability and true durability.
Is literally my daily beater.

I really enjoy my sky. It’s very large and nothing like anything I have ever owned or currently own

I absolutely loved it but it was about 2mm too big lug to lug for my 6.75in wrist for my taste.

I own a 326934 (white gold bezel).
When I could buy it I had two doubts. 1. The 42 mm watchcase (40 mm is max for me). 2. Fluted bezel (I'm not really crazy about it). Size: The Sky-Dweller needs a bigger case because the movement is bigger. Sky-Dweller movement = 33 mm / 8 mm 3135 / 3155 movement = 28,5 mm / 6 mm Actually, I find the Sky-Dweller similar in terms of wear as a Milgauss/Air-King. Very comfortable, but of course it is not a small watch. Total weight Sky-Dweller = 179,7 gram VS Total weight Air-King = 156,5 gram Only 23,2 gram for all those complications + Cyclops Lens & white gold bezel ?! Bezel: The Fluted bezel has on the Sky-Dweller of course a real function. You just need grip/hold using the rotatable Ring Command bezel. Ring Command bezel works great. Movement: Absolutely Fabulous ! Around my wrist 0 seconds in 3 months. Change the date once a year (on 1 March) is pretty cool I think. I have used the dual time zone twice, it works perfectly. Conclusion: In other words, one of the most beautiful watches I own. Totally unexpected a Rolesor Sky-Dweller, and the recommended retail price ? Amazing ! Much more practical than my PP 5960. I take a deep bow to Montres Rolex 's their watchmakers, engineers & designers. |

I sold all my other Rolex and have a SS and PM. DD is just a DJ with a day - trivial. An annual calendar, now that’s something. Fit is awesome.

I’ve been pushing my AD for a blue one for 9 months...they haven’t seen one, only one black and 2 whites.
Not an owner but a dreamer! Such an amazing piece |

Don’t say that or I’ll end up buying another. Honestly it was probably my favorite Rolex that could be my one and only but I just felt a bit like it wore me given my wrist size. Could just be all in my head. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

With a 6.5 in. wrist the watch is borderline being too large. Perhaps a bit better on a 7 in. wrist. Maybe try a photo of the watch on your wrist and see how it looks to you. Also the watch is an Annual. If you are only going to wear it occasionally then it doesn't really make sense to have the Annual as it can't really serve its purpose. Mine went on a trade in toward a Daytona. It's a watch I loved but not as part of a large collection and at its current size.

I just bought mine last Friday. I was one of those suckers who paid gray market prices, and I have absolutely no regrets! The AC plus GMT functions are really practical for me as I travel to Asia at least twice a year. Such an elegant way to keep track of the months, too.
The blue dial is stunning. I don’t find it crowded at all, and I like the off-center GMT disc. Makes the piece that much more unique. I could use a little less flash on the bezel as I don’t really fancy the attention. but the attention aside, the way the light dances across it is really cool. It looks like a light show! I do think the shine may wear out a bit with time, too. As far as fit, I have a 7” wrist, and I think it’s fine. A little bigger than I usually wear my watches, but it’s not bad. It’s got some heft, but I’m ok with it. Great wrist presence!

I picked up my black dial last week. It fits great on my wrist which is about 7". It's really accurate; +.5 second a day! The WG bezel with the PCL's gives a great look (the PCL's aren't picking up swirls like the YG PCL's on my Bluesy did). The annual calendar is what drew me to the Sky-Dweller. This watch is on another level!

I have had my black dialed for just under 3 months and I love it to bits. Honestly I only bought it because I was offered it at under retail so I jumped on it. Figured I could always sell it again.... I ended up selling my other pieces and I am now a one watch guys with the Sky, even though my wrists are only a tad over 6 inches (but flat so dosent look stupid)
I really recommend it to anyone who wants to try it.... I was very pleasently surprised. Just an allround great watch for all occasions |

The only "problem" with the Sky-d is that, unlike GMT or exp2, the date does not flip backwards when you change the hour hand backwards. This happens when you are flying west around the midnight hours. Otherwise it is fine! |

Just got mine today
I absolutely love it. One of the coolest Rolexes I've ever had. This will go into rotation with my Milgaus Z-Blue and new DSSD. I've got pretty big wrists so the fit is fine. I never have to take a link off of a new Rolex and it's just right.
I'm so impressed with the finish and the ease/legibility of the GMT/Annual Calendar features. This one is definitely a keeper! |

Love my 2 tone. It is so different from any other piece I own or have Own. I actually like how large it appears. But I won’t wear a 36mm. I have to wear larger watches. I do not have a large wrist but I am 6’3” so smaller watches don’t look good on me.

One relatively unique thing about the SkyD is how the lugs curve around the wrists. This greatly manifests proper fit even for smaller wrists. You carry the SkyD just fine. If you look at the PM pricing, the SkyD leads all others. It's not because it has an extra $10K in gold. I would not let others talk me out of something I really want. If you're asking this after you sold yours, you're likely to get another.

Sky-Dweller owners - how do you like the watch?
The case shape and the thicker bracelet makes the watch feel great on the wrist. The finish is exquisite. The movement’s functions work securely and as smooth as butter. That dial is easily readable and extremely beautiful. Such an ingenious way to relate the month and to operate the functions through the command bezel. It’s easier and faster to set the date / month and time than my GMT master II because I can choose precisely what I need to adjust by putting the bezel ( command ring ) to the appropriate place. For that reason I will disagree that this could not be a part of a bigger collection even though it’s an annual calendar.
In a perfect world I would have wanted it to be thinner but I understand why it’s not. It’s not too thick but I just peffer thinner watches. However I’m over the moon with my blue dialed one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

John your watch is blue and not black... Maybe you don't realized it ;)

Great watch... to those who don’t know it seems like a date just that’s slightly thicker. The gmt func is something I’ve used many times. I find the watch pairs better w a suit than the gmt2. After meetings its perfect for the pool as well. The dial is very easy to read as well as adjust. The time keeping ability is incredible it’s only 4min fast since it was set last March. In short this has become my daily

Ha ha ha. I wrote blue and auto correct wrote black. Thanks for pointing this out to me. Coincidentally the SS black dial one was my first Sky Dweller because of availability back in 2017. I hunted down a blue dialed one few months later because that was what I wanted from the beginning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
