Tried on DD 40 at AD. Noticed a few things...228235
It wears a lot like my Daytona in that it feels a little small, but it’s exactly the size I like.
Compared to my YM 16622 you can see it looks smaller. Well dial looks bigger but DD looks smaller The RG is kinda toned down compared to the YG That was the only RG DD they had. Also No platinum DD or platinum Daytona. Said they don’t stock them because don’t have customers for that range...? Wife was looking at Hearts on Fire Center Stones. Worth the premium? $17,750 for 1.72kt VVs1 and j color In my sweats after workout. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hearts on fire are better than most stones on market but not the best at that price point you can do better. I would skip the VVS1 and go to VS1-VS2 you wont be able to see a difference especially with with a superior cut & try to get color in E-F range though will bump up price by a few grand or the elusive D color which is amazing but more $$ but color is very important to me since Im color sensitive, if gonna be set in platinum or WG. If you want more info on stones you can PM and show you 2 retailers that have better cuts. I have studied the round cuts extensively fwiw. Ive done business with one and they are very knowledgeable on cuts they are also great people to deal with & no I dont make anything on it if you are interested but I dont want your jeweler/ AD wife to hate me. Hearts on Fire are nice enough, I guess what Im trying to say there are higher cuts to refract light better but also come with premium. Good Luck!

I can't comment on the diamonds since most in our home come from the turn of the century (1800s to 1900s) when my grandfather imported them so they aren't modern. I' e never been on the look for diamonds because of that. As far as the watch is concerned, I think it is a beauty; are you likely to get it?

It is smaller, had the same feeling from my DD2 to the DD40 as I did from my Subc to a D500, about a 2-3mm difference in feel.

Stunning watch, personally prefer the chocolate or anniversary green dial though!

I’m tossing things around with the DD40, but I wasn’t really like “I have to have this!” after trying it on.
I do like the comfort of the DD but I really miss the look and colors of the 116619/116618. It may not be as comfortable, (to me) but I will have 4 watches in the rotation and it may be fine since I wouldn’t be wearing it exclusively. The Yachtmaster 16622, has been really comfortable and I love the dial and bezel. Been wearing it often and bezel still looks great. I do miss the adjustment ability of the easy-link and glidelock, and the ability of changing wrists. Without adjustment, the YM 16622 likes to stay on the left wrist and it is too much of a hassle changing the holes in the bracelet. But, saying all that the Tuna Can Clasp is so thin and comfortable

Color blends in too much with your skin tone.

Looks great Sam, gonna get it?
RG Sundust is actually my favorite config, will probably get it this year depending on what basel brings. My AD can do $31k OTD if yours can’t do better, let me know. |

Just bought my wife a new diamond for her engagement ring: SI1, I color, and excellent cut. SI1 inclusions are not visible to the naked eye. I color is considered near-colorless, meaning that the color is only noticeable when held next to a colorless stone. My wife's previous stone was a True Hearts diamond (hearts and arrows); this one looks just as brilliant. I wouldn't spend the money for Hearts on Fire. We purchased both stones from James Allen, and they are first rate! Here's a stone I just found; it's 1.7 carats, H color, VS2, and True Hearts. The price is $3,500 cheaper than the stone you're looking at, and I suspect it's a better stone.
