Tudor is done with "special editions"

I know we all love these threads around here lol. At least it has nothing to do with price decreases...

I was provided some information today from a very reliable source, who just spent the last few days meeting with Rolex and Tudor Executives.

The issue of Tudor special editions arose, ones like Bucherer and Harrods.

Tudor said they are done with special editions and will not be producing them after Basel 2019. I don't believe this applies to limited run commissioned pieces like State of Qatar etc.

Take it with a grain of salt, I am, and it's not because I don't believe or trust my source, because I do very much. It's the fact that Tudor can change their mind whenever they like.

Why discontinue such hot watches? The Harrods was released in December 2017 and they still have a massive waiting list and is growing probably daily lol.

The Bucherer the same, it's absolutely stunning and a shame it can only be sold at Bucherer. If Tudor made it available to all retailers I believe it would be one of their top sellers.

Interesting. I liked the Harrods a good bit. Didn't seem like such a gimmick.
