Hello Everyone. I've been a member for a few months now, but this is the first thread I started. Here it goes. I'm not so much in the need for money, at this point, but I don't have a real passion for my once beloved timepieces. Don't get me wrong, I still love them all, but only now it's equally. So, I've decided that I will let one go but not sure which one.

Here's where you guys and gals come in for assistance. I know in the end the final decision will be mine but I still want the advise of the Rolex experts.

I currently own the following:

GMT IIc
SS Daytona w/ White face (M series)
Sub date (M Series)

If you had to let one go, and you loved them all equally, which one would you give up and why?

I'd drop the GMTIIc. I think Rolex went backwards on the revamp of this model. The Pepsi and Coke version was way better. Before I decided on the SD, I almost went with the Coke.

Had I been shopping all over again, the GMTIIc wouldn't even get consideration.

If you love them "equally", I would sell the SS Daytona since that one will fetch the most. You'll take a bigger loss on the other two.

I personally would sell the sub date.

The Sub Date, the main reason is that you can easily pick one up again at a good price and its probably the one you will take the least hit $$ on in terms of resale.

But I would sell the GMTIIC, why you ask?

I don't think there's much rationalisation when dealing in matters of the heart

I would sell the sub date due to the commonness of it (real and fake).

The Daytona is a life long keeper IMHO.

The new GMTIIc has an incredible look and feel to it. The ceramic bezel and green lettering is amazing again IMHO.

I think you should let the Sub Date go.

You can easily pick up one later in life if you want, and you have the date function in the IIc

Dump the Sub Date. As previous members have said, you can always pick up another one in the future. Plus the model is likely to be updated in 2010...so you can buy the latest and greatest in a little over a year from now.

some of their passionless better halfs...same with watches...you do not have the same
enthousiasm.???..I'd say...sell the suckers...all three are innanimate objects
without a soul.

Don't get me wrong guys. I would not dare sell all three. No way...only if I needed the cash badly and I'm not there yet.

I just don't have the passion for 3 watches like I used to. But now that I have the 3 most sought after watches, I 'm not sure which of the 3 are the ones to keep and which one is the least favorite Rolex of them all.

Passion is still there, but not for three watches...only two at this point in my life.

I would drop the Sub date too.

I actually did this when I got my GMT IIc and already owned a EXP II - white dial.

You would then be in a similar position with the best/latest designed GMT IIc (fantastic upgrades IMO) while having the white faced Daytona to complement a change.

I'd sell the GMTIIc. too close to the sub-date. and unless you REALLy use the separate time zone function often...then its a no brainer...I'd let that one go.

Sub date, as said by many others its the easiest to replace and pick up a pre-owned for a reasonable price.

The daytona may be worth the most, but if you decided you missed it, it could be a pain to get a replacement at a reasonable price.
