Help with Everest Strap

I have recently been trying different strap options on my 116621 and I decided to give Everest a try. I ordered the "EVEREST STEEL END LINK ALLIGATOR EMBOSSED STRAP FOR ROLEX YACHT-MASTER WITH TANG BUCKLE" in brown. I received the strap this afternoon, after only a few days ship time. However, the strap I received, tagged as "EH4BRN," does not fit on my watch after an hour of struggle. The spring bars do not appear to align with the spring bar holes on the insides of the lugs no matter how I work or wiggle the endlinks. I am incredibly frustrated and considering sending it back. I double checked the webpage, and it clearly states that the strap "Fits these Rolex Yacht-Master - Models Reference: 16622, 116622, 116621, 16623 (gold and steel) and 16628 (all gold)".

Has anyone tried this combination or have any advice for me? I have tried all kinds of straps in the past and have never had this much of an issue.

I wasn't able to get it to work, but I tried it on my SMP 300 Diver and it looks great. I'm totally confused.

Did you use the spring bars they sent?

I have tried with the included spring bars and my own. They just don't seem to line up correctly. I have compared the endlink with the bracelet endlink and they appear very close to identical, but don't seem to work the same way. I've put the bracelet back on and am regretting bothering with it.

Sometimes you have to insert the strap with the spring bar and then use a needle to move the spring bar tip forwards or backwards for it to drop in. You won't have to use much force, but this can happen when you have new strap that is not broken in yet. I use a magnification to see the tip of the spring bar to judge which direction it has to go.

I'll give it a shot, thanks.

No worries. I have had this happened more than once.

I’ve noticed when removing my bracelets for cleaning, one end of the spring bar won’t “spring” back out unless I apply a little inward pressure on it. It happens quite often. The first time I didn’t notice and spent way too much time trying to figure out why things weren’t lining up. In truth, they were lined up, the spring bar just wasn’t expanding fully.

You might need some generic spring bars with more slop in it to make it work. Not ideal but what can ya do.

I think this may well be the issue. I got it to work, but I don’t fully trust it and went back to the bracelet for now. I’m not convinced they are as well designed as they could be. The OEM bracelet endlink is a breeze to attach comparatively.

occasionally I come across a spring bar that is lined up perfectly but just won’t seat, and I’ll have to take the tweezer tip and manual slide the spring bar tip into place by adding pressure with the tweezer tip. You don’t get to hear that satisfying click, but I’ve had to do this before and it’s secure. Just make sure the spring bar shoulders are pressed all the way to the wall of the lug and give it a good test before heading out.

It’s a great brand and if you can’t get it to work I’m sure they’ll take care of you. Did you call them btw?

Sorry you had issues with the strap. I am about to buy one for my Sub--either from the website or from a local jewelry store (not an AD). I hope I have better luck! Good luck with yours!

I did not call them, I referred to the instructions on the site and confirmed that I received the right strap based on the part number. They sent what I ordered, it was just much more difficult to enjoy than I expected.

At the recommendation of another forum member, I contact Everest about the issue and they volunteered to send a new set of endlinks. They believe they sent the wrong endlinks in the original shipment.
