What makes the bracelet clasp crooked
Hi guys! May I use your help here. I just bought the watch and realise that the bracelet clasp doesn’t fit entirely (you can see the red bow). Although the clasp still kicks in, the left side of the clasp protrude out. The right side of the clasp is working fine.
Does anyone knows how I could fix this, pls? Thank you |

Happens when wearing the watch on the inside of your wrist, try it yourself with the watch all the way forward on your arm and move your wrist uo and you'll see the stress it causes.
If you look on the inside of the clasp you'll see the pins were stressed on one side |

I have uploaded the inner clasp. Somehow it just would not close tightly. Is it because I have to widen the two “pins” which will help to hold the clasp?

1. How old is the watch (you say you just got, but sounds like you aren't first owner)?
2. How tight is it on your wrist? Gold is a soft metal so if the watch has been around for a while it's possible that the clasp has worn down a bit, and if the watch is very tight on your wrist, there may be too much tension on it. |

this thread shows a photo with similar clasp, and exhibits as well a slight gap.
considering the mechanism is very simple, i would suppose the "neck" of the affected hook/pin has already elongated? |

2. it was tight on my wrist... i had tried to insert an additional link but it became too loose. Therefore, i stick with it being tight on my wrist. Is it reversible? |

The other thing to find out is whether some of the links have stretched, which can happen. If so, perhaps remove one of those, replace with a spare, and see if you get the just right in-between fit? |

Thanks! The links so far look so good.
I have no idea how to fix it. Now every time I wear, there seems to be a click sound when I move my wrist. I think it’s gonna break soon >< |

Clasp is bent. Quick tweak to straighten it.

Hands/fingers or rubber jaw pliers. I wouldn’t get fancy or drastic.

On a note, I think the advice here provided from kind souls in this forum is that we shouldn’t wear it so tight and close to the end of the wrist. And that’s because as we move our wrist, the movement of the wrist will apply pressure on the gold which is malleable. It’s a first timer for me to encounter such problem. I Guess the too tight or too lose behaviour on my presidential bracelet is something new for me. |

I honestly think that if you have the clasp in your hands and can’t figure out how to repair it, you need to have a watchmaker take a look at it or send it to a service center.

You need two of those and bend downward without breaking it.
Older style clasp, lots of AD's/watchmakers don't know and mess up.

When you say bend downwards, I suppose the tools are bending the two oval clip downwards? I study clasp further, and realise that while the clasp has “click” and secured itself, the Rolex head clasp could move up and down a little because the two oval pins which hold the clasp are thin. Not sure if I am making sense to anyone |

At Startimesupply.com they call it RT-CLASPTOOL (Clasp adjuster tool)
Bending downward to open the oval clip a touch more is how it is supposed to work. Don't overdo it. Instead of this special tool you might use two pliers. For fear of damaging I don't do that, my hands are too heavy. You also can try to bend the blade a little. Though this trick is for the non President clasps. It might work. Perhaps best option is to have a Rolex watchmaker tighten it a bit.

Thanks guys for the helpful information. Just to confirm, inner clasp refer to the clasp in between the bracelet and clasp?

An update too. I just went to my local Rolex service centre and they say this is the best they could do for me. I wasn’t satisfied as it’s still not as close as I want it to be. I want to bend it myself but I don’t know which part and if I should bend upwards or downwards =\

Well I guess you won't have to worry about the resell value on the DD after all! I feel your pain, had a new car for a day and got curb rash.
