BLRO prices on the rise again?

At the beginning of the year there were plenty available in the $16k range; now they've snuck back up to mid $17s.

Any theories as to why? The number for sale has remained constant

Anecdotally from one of my reseller friends they are seeing less of them. I have no idea if that’s true, but if you search watchrecon, there have been 0 NIB BLROs listed in the last two weeks, which does seem a bit off.

Yes there are only a couple on WR but 193 of them on C24.

I just searched Rolex BLRO on chrono24; cut it to 2018-2019, steel, 40mm, US and Canada. There are 34 listings and only 5 are below $18350. I genuinely don’t think people are even trying to sell things on that site....

For example there are 350 116500s on chrono24 - that seems crazy

Demand was soften a couple months ago because we needed to see what comes out in Baselworld 2019. Now people realize that BLRO is still the GMT to get.

Price in a grey dealer in HK as of yesterday for a BLRO 126710 was USD19,900. This is an increase from a month ago (18,200).

Same watch. Same shop. People ain’t paying.

This is ridiculous. It’s not going to end well for those falling for it

But I don’t know how you can say that when the BLNR, which has a reasonably popular alternative with the older BLNR on oyster, is selling for over $20k... How is a BLNR on jubilee worth $5k more than a BLRO? That makes no sense.

The LN here in Australia has an unworn 2019 model for sale at a grey dealer for a cool AUD$27k.

It's an investment and a fair price
As with all Rolex supply and demand

The 40mm polar explorers are heading north as well.
As is milgauss...and other watches which last year were selling less than bought price

2019 is going to be a growth year.....for all Rolex
Especially the stainless steel which if you use the selling price as zero is worth more than gold across the board.

ROLEX is the new bit coin

Australian gray dealers are always dreaming with their price.

It's always been a popular watch, but I do feel like we've hit a ceiling as I continue to see stock just sitting there on certain sites. I think that means the prices will come down incrementally, but it wont ever come down too much.

Really? I doubt that it's actually selling for that. We should not fall into the trap that "asking prices" are what watches are selling for.

The way you quoted it looks like I was saying old BLNR selling over 20k. I was saying new BLNR selling over 20k. There was one listed on DavidSW at 23.8k that was then marked sold that everyone was talking about.

It could be just me, but I feel neither of these watches are worth the money they are traded for on the grey market, and those who bought them at these prices will feel the pinch when the next recession kicks in or the other models become hot

I think it’s relatively personal. For example I paid a decent premium for the Pepsi, but I’m okay with it because I wear it and I have no intention of selling it. The price I paid was worth not waiting for me. If the price was 20k it would not have been worth it for me. For some people it is I guess...

Precisely this!

Although a fool is soon parted from his money, there is not an abundance of fools.

I do really wonder how much of this internet advertised selling and "SOLD" web pages are for real, or just a ruse by the greys to hype up the price.

More for any fool stupid enough to pay these prices for these watches. They're simply not worth that kind of money in any market.

Although sold, they never say at what amount so I am with you by saying they do not sell for the advertised price too often.

I’d check through all that because other Rolex GMT models come up as well on the search. The real number is much lower.

Hmmm...'fool', 'stupid fool'.

I've owned my business for 24 years now. I guess if I want to be a 'stupid fool' and be 'parted from my money' I can do that. If I decide I want to buy a BLRO for $20,000, I guess that's my decision to make...not yours. Quit whining

Sorry, I see that now. My mistake.

However, I stand by my statement that asking prices do not reflect actual selling prices, if they even do sell.

How easy would it be for me to list a BNIB for sale, and then update it later with a "SOLD!" banner, and then several days later list yet another BNIB for sale at an even higher price? These days with everyone hiding serial numbers, who would know if it wasn't the same watch? Heck, if I were really trying to deceive, the pictures could be different as well.

If anything i feel like prices slowed down....seems to be in the 16-17k range as opposed to 17-18k.

Also noticed a lot more incomings which is nice.
